Super awkward experience going to FMN. Security individual was rude and made us feel uncomfortable throughout. Upon standing in line for a reservation that was made in advance, an individual within our group was not able to be let in (understandable), but even after checking my ID as I proceeded to enter into FMN, the security guard grabbed the collar of my jacket pushing me back out until he realized he had already looked at my ID and I was then able to go back in. Very alarming as a female walking into a space and that’s how the security intel treats a guest. Get more than one security individual to be at the door if there is an influx When within FMN, ordered a drink for myself and this was before the cut off time as stated by the bar staff. As I was finishing my drink, right at 2am, the same security guard grabbed the drink out of my hand and yelled repeatedly that the bar is closed as if I was being hostile and unagreeable, which I was not. We had sat in our reserved section and were enjoying our group in a peaceful and un-alarming manner, so it was very jarring the behavior of the security targeted at us while FMN was still 40% occupied throughout. I was aware and acknowledged the command within my group as well as to the security that we would be leaving immediately as we were unaware of the time, respectfully. Super unprofessional as I was not ordering another drink, but finishing the one in my hand and when it was yanked away, as FMN was still 40% occupied with patrons at the same time with others with drinks in their hands and still congregating, I felt singled out the whole night on unprovoked incidences. The security individual even yelled as our group was heading out about something around the lines of profanity. This is not to address that it was a women-only group that was there enjoying peacefully and composed, but that we have been to FMN plenty of times and have never received such unhinged and unprofessional communication as well as brash behavior by security before, whom are there to keep patrons and the establishment safe, inviting, and welcomed from...
Read moreUnfortunately my friend and I had a very negative experience due to poor management skills. After the manager had told us to seat ourselves outside (which we thought was a bit odd but fine), and never gave us any sort of time limit warning - we proceeded to enjoy a few drinks and lounge in our area for about 2 hours.
Our server was lovely and as it began to get dark, she warned that there was a reservation for our table coming up, but that we could move over to the corner table adjacent. No problem! She said we could wait 20 minutes or move now. We decided to wait...and 20 minutes later the same manager that told us to seat ourselves, told us we needed to get up and leave. First off, her tone was not nice but rather demanding.
We explained the server said we could move adjacent to the table. Then, she said she needed that entire area/section and that that wasn't possible. Instead of apologizing for confusion or a miscommunication amongst her and the server - she demanded we get up immediately. She exclaimed that she had told us we had a time limit (which she never did).
I once again stated we had been told we could move adjacent - at which she exclaimed her "pay grade" is above the server and that we needed to go immediately. Instead of treating customers with professionalism and politeness and perhaps just offering an apology or solution for moving us elsewhere....she had the security guy remove us.
I've been to many cocktail bars and restaurants in my life, and never have I been treated so poorly by any kind of hospitality worker. She had longer black hair and was wearing a spider web dress? It is unfortunate for this establishment as they make nice drinks, but I'd be concerned as the ownership to have someone representing my brand/company as she had. Simple management skills could have effectively taken care of this situation and everyone could have left happily.
Lastly, they did not let my friend close out our tab but proceeded to charge and tip...

Unfortunately there were 2 decent sized misses...
1- Very limited food options. The oysters were outstanding by Oyster Wulff, as they always are, but there was very little else to sink your teeth into.
While they did have other food options it was limited. But what they did have was, canned fish. I’m confused by this. Do people go to a swanky cocktail bar and order canned fish? In my opinion it sort of cheapens the menu. And never mind the idea of a potential make-out sesh.
It could be since the place is new they are still working on adding in other items. I’d suggest Wagu and vegan sliders, burrata and heirloom tomatoes, Greek and veggie chicken skewers , and marry Mr. Wulff’s oysters with the shrimp cocktail and add in some crab meat and there you have a mini seafood tower.
2-the drinks were okay. I asked for tequila with lime juice and a tad of agave, they gave me a large tall glass with a lot of ice and put soda or sparkling water in it. My friend ordered a spicy pineapple drink and it wasn’t spicy, we realized the bartender did not muddle the jalapeños, so she asked if she could have muddled jalapeños on the side to add to the drink. The waitress, who was super nice and attentive by the way, said they would remake the drink for her. They brought back a new drink but it still wasn’t spicy at all, they just added more slices of jalapeño but still didn’t muddle them. This was shocking to me for an upscale joint!
Overall, lots of potential here and room for improvement and as mentioned the space and the service: hostess, communication on when table was ready and the friendliness and service from our waitress was really great! That is often the harder part but they...
