This might be the hotel for some but not for me. There were also some issues will billing that I will get to. Upon arrival I realized that check-in was at the bar. I immediately realized that this was an ultra laid back “hip”, no frills sort of place. For the discounted rate that I paid, it was fine but I would absolutely NEVER pay full price to stay here. We get up to the room. It’s directly in front of the elevator. I always request a room away from elevators upon booking but I forgot this time. I knew the rooms would be small, but these rooms are extremely small. Like the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. It was uncomfortable for two people. Not even a desk. There were some foldable luggage racks and a foldable table hanging on hooks. Not my thing. It was giving dorm vibes. I suppose if it’s just you and you’re going out, getting trashed and come back late and just pass out it might be ok but beyond that it just wasn’t great. The shower water pressure was good. The bed was harder than I would have liked. My friend and I went out for dinner and decided to have drinks at the bar. The early 2000s playlist they had on was wretched. You also cannot sit outside past 11pm. I wake up the next morning to knocking on the door by housekeeping at like 9:30ish…annoying but I guess I did forget to put the do not disturb sign up. Then I see a charge on my credit card and email with my invoice that included TWO charges of $45 for parking even though I stayed only one night. There was also someone that knocked on our door 10 minutes prior to checkout (housekeeping maybe?) as I’m getting my bags and doing a once over look in the room asking if we were checking out. This is the first time in my life this has happened anywhere. I called the front desk, said they fixed it and that my bank should release that and any incidental charges within a few days after checkout. It is now almost two weeks later and even though the full amount has been charged, processed and posted to my credit card, the other charges are still pending! I’ve never had this happen anywhere. So I contact my credit card company and they say this is absolutely not happening from their end(didn’t think so as I stay in hotels all the time and have never experienced this) and that I need to call the hotel so they can release the charges. Well I call and they tell me again that it’s my bank. One of the pending charges was by accident to begin with so that’s frustrating as it is. Since I knew I was getting no where with the front desk person I contacted my credit card company and opened a dispute so if the charges don’t fall off in two weeks they will dispute them. The fact I’m dealing with this for a mediocre hotel is enough for me. This place might be okay if you’re a drunk college student. I’m surprised and disappointed at this considering it’s a Marriott brand. I recommend a number of other hotels in the cherry creek area. The Jacquard is my favorite in the area. Hotel Clio is also a good one in the area. I guess I didn’t do adequate research because I thought I could trust a...
Read moreIf I could leave negative reviews I would! I pre booked this hotel for a work trip when I arrived today I have my company card on my phone that matches the hotel reservation and they said they could not use that they needed the physical card. Fine. I will use my personal card on Apple Pay. We don't take Apple Pay! I said can I go get cash? No. Can I use a prepaid card? He said NO! The man at the front was so incredibly rude and offered no solutions. I was almost in tears by how horrible he was. I asked if I could have someone call to put a card on file for incidentals and he said no. I've NEVER had this happen when booking a hotel before ever. I asked to speak to a manager to see if we could figure something out and he said no we don't have one tonight. I was so frustrated I said do you want me to sleep on the floor? What am I supposed to do?! Mind you the hotel was already paid for and that card was on file. He said yeah I guess so sorry it's company policy. I went over to the lobby to try and figure something out I was about to book the Hyatt because you can check in on the app and add a card on file via their app. When what I assume was the manger came over to say I have 15 minutes before she called security on me! I was just sitting in the lobby of a hotel that I fully paid for quietly trying to figure out what to do.SECURITY!! I had a prepaid card in my bag and I went up and said can we just try this. And it worked.... she said to me can I just ask what the disconnect was? And I told her all of the form of payments I had for the $60 incidentals and the man told me sorry we can't use those, she said he didn't offer you a credit card authorization form? And I said no and she said oh well sorry about that. Omg!! After all of that. She also was super rude like somehow I was in the wrong? Did not try to make the situation right literally at all. I'm so disappointed as someone who stays at the Ritz , jw marriot and W I can't believe they would allow this type of behavior. I've never experienced anything like it and unfortunately will not ever be staying with them again or using them for any of our work travel. The rooms are small and loud but all things I could look past. The treatment I received tonight was...
Read moreClean and stylish but disappointing. Upon arrival the valet asked if we would need a luggage cart, which he brought and left with us. No one offered to to carry up our bags or show us our room. Check in was quick but they gave us the wrong room. I had reserved and paid for a Mountain View room and was given a courtyard room which, at the 6th floor, all you see is the blank wall of the building next door. When I went back down to ask the desk, we were offered to move our belongings to another room. Considering we had just finished driving for 2+ hours I didn't have the energy and as a form of compensation they offered nothing but a brief apology and refunded the difference between the rooms. Getting back to the windows and the view; guests can see directly into each others rooms unless you draw the roll down shade, leaving you no light or view at all. About the bed, the mattress and pillows were comfortable but you are only provided a top sheet and only what I can describe as a second top sheet of a different color. There is no quilt or comforter and I had to wear socks to bed to keep my feet from getting cold. About the shower; it's nice and modern with the knob easily accessible so you don't have to get wet to turn it on but they offered a combined body wash & shampoo with a separate conditioner. Oddly this does a good job of neither washing your body or your hair. It feels like bathing with shampoo and you will absolutely need the conditioner after this stuff touches your hair. A few things I felt were missing, though I have no idea are offered or not, were wash cloths for the shower, water glasses, possibly an in room coffee/tea tray and an iron w/ ironing board. The Moxy Denver Cherry Creek seems to have used Minimalism to define their service and amenities in addition to...
