Worst experience ever. Starbucks is normally known for their friendly and helpful staff, so this completely caught me off guard. I normally go to the Starbucks in university hills (who made this Starbucks look like an abandoned building that’s falling apart) but I decided to try the one next to my work during lunch and I will NEVER go back. Thursday January 19th at 11:08am - the girl with the blonde hair and ponytail has no business working in a customer service setting. I did a mobile order and when I went in to wait for it (the app did not say it was ready) no one acknowledged me in any way. It was taking quite a while so finally the blonde asks me what I’m waiting for - in a very snotty tone - and I said the rest of my order. She said oh we’re out of the donuts and the empty bag (sitting hidden underneath my other bags, I might add) is supposed to tell me that, I guess??? In what world would I know the inner workings and procedures of a business I don’t work for? No other Starbucks I’ve been to has done that either. They immediately make you aware and ask if you’d like a refund. When I asked her how I was supposed to know that she said well people usually ask. So?? That’s irrelevant. Usually, a CSR tells the CUSTOMER that they are out of something and will offer a refund or replacement. So I went in line and the next girl asked if I wanted a refund. Obviously?? I’m not getting what I paid for! I did not have the card on me, it was a mobile order so she goes oh without the card I can’t give you a refund…!! Are you kidding me? Yes. You can. I’m not paying for something I didn’t get!! So I said can’t you just put it on a gift card? Finally she agrees to do that. Doesn’t know how to do it, so I had to wait for the third employee (who was the only one that was nice and helpful) to get my refund. Blonde ponytail needs a serious attitude adjustment and several more weeks of training. Yikes.
Update: Went to the university hills Starbucks (who are AMAZING EVERY TIME) and as soon as I walked up and reached for my order they asked if I was picking up for Taira and then very apologetically told me they were out of the donut and then went on to offer me anything else off the menu - even if it was more expensive - to make up for it. And if not, they would happily refund me. Starbucks on 40th and Central Park is giving Starbucks a very bad name and it’s very disappointing for the countless other employees that go above and beyond every minute of every work day. I sure hope they fire blonde ponytail before she does too much damage to their repeat...
Read moreThis place is absolutely ridiculous for starters this tip culture these days is out of hand and un acceptable. Not everything needs to be tipped. The cost you pay is for the service and product you are supposed to get. But yet again another buisiness and another Starbucks where as soon as you don't tip you get treated horribly with eye rolls snarky attitudes and so on. As we were paying the girl in the drive through as my wife was answering all the questions like tipping the girl basically stands on her tippy toes staring down what my wife was pressing. It was extremely uncomfortable and employees from places try and put you on the spot. I get life is hard things are expensive but servers get tipped and time to time when the consumer thinks someone gave An above average service it's they're choice to tip. As soon as we said no to the tip her entire attitude changed you can read it all over her face she started being short and giving us attitude. We asked for more Boba for the summer skies my wife ordered because there was literally none in the drink and she gets this drink nearly everyday so we know what it should look like. The girl responds with an attitude yeah but that's going to be more money for extra. Naturally we responded extra there's none in the drink can you not see that. Cool that's the service you want to provide well take the extra and pay if that's how you are going to respond when clearly this drink Is not made correctly. Starbucks is expensive and it's not asking much to get what you paid for. Then we paid nearly 3 dollars for extra Boba and this is what we got packed with more attitudes from the girl in the drive through. Absolutely unexceptable service and deffinetly do not recomend this location . P.s. so glad Dutch bros in In co it's time to take my buisiness elsewhere where and I have a company that's spends thousands a year in coffees for employees and clients. Over the increased prices with decreased services and expectations that if customers don't tip it's acceptable to treat them differently as soon as they dont tip you that's what your salary is for tips need to stop being forced on everything everywhere we go. We are already paying for a service this cost is integrated into the cost of the product for these types...
Read moreWhat freaking happened to the fun Starbucks culture of years past?!? Back then seeing the Barista's genuinely enjoying their jobs, their coworkers, AND their customers ALWAYS started my day off on a positive note. NOW it's a manic disaster, fraught with overwhelmed and unhappy Barista's. I've frequented this store at least 4 days a week for a year now and I always go in, and let me tell you that you notice the second you walk in, the cafe may only actually be waist high everywhere, but unless you're directly in front of the register, there may as well be a brick wall to the ceiling everywhere else.
Like back in the day at my old Starbucks (Wads&Bowles) I used to feel rude that I had to cut the conversation short or risk being late! We shared a connection, I knew their kids, their spouse's, their families and they knew mine! I still send and receive holiday greetings with 5 Starbucks baristas former and still current.
I certainly don't expect to get that Starbucks kind of experience back ever. However I do expect to be at the VERY least felt acknowledged as a fellow human being, and as harsh as it may sound, this location so void of any sort of culture at all it almost doesn't seem possible. It's a you vs me to the customer mindset, never the you and me mindset that is the foundation of the Starbucks culture.
It's honestly incredibly depressing to visit this location if you're an empath like me. I'm drained before I even can make it out of...
