I have read many of these reviews, both before we bought from Denver Modern and after we did. The reviews were part of the reason we ended up buying from them. The experience, though, that we have had is markedly different than many of the positive reviews on here. I don’t know if the positive reviews are from family, friends, and employees but do not even come close to the experience we had. We have bought furniture from at least 5 different companies over the past year, and the experience we had with Denver Modern was by far the poorest we have had. We were informed that our Vail Lounge Chair and ottoman would take about two months to make, which we understood given the issues with the supply chain. That’s fine and understandable. When the Vail Chair came, which actually was three months, it was in quite poor condition. The chair ended up being a rocking chair because of how poor the frame was made. Attached are the pictures of it, and it was quite disappointing to wait that amount of time and receive that product. It then took 3 calls on 3 different days to reach someone to report this issue. And when I got the name of someone to help, the communication was quite poor. There were multiple times that it took a week to receive a response and often requiring an email from myself asking if my previous email had been received. And that was just for our chair.

We did eventually receive the new frame a couple of weeks after first making contact. We then received our ottoman another 2.5 months after the chair, when we had been told they were shipped together and then that the ottoman would be shipped with the frame, which it wasn’t. And then being told it was being shipped, and again it did not actually go out then. And then having to email back when it had not actually shipped. The whole process seemed to be very much a rinse and repeat of emailing, not getting an answer until emailing again, getting a response that didn’t end up actually happening, etc.

I understand the issues that come with the pandemic, but communication and customer service is an easy thing to control. That was the most disappointing aspect of our experience with Denver Modern. The lack of communication, and more specifically honest communication, is something that will make us never consider ordering from Denver Modern again...

While the chair is beautiful, the customer service has been awful. I was on the fence about leaving this review but I have still not heard back from the company and hope they improve their customer support. I purchased a chair back in min November. It was shipped to ship on December. It was delayed due to covid understandably but I had to keep reaching out for status updates, they were not sent to me. Mind you, this chair was over $1000 so im expecting more than Ikea. Then on the fist of January I was told it would ship in 5-7 days. I reached back out on January 29th and was told that they missed my order and would ship it out....I receive tracking and am told they upgraded my delivery. While this is all happening I was having to call and leave voice mails, email and message them on Instagram to get a reply and I ONLY got an email. I have still not received a call back after 3 messages or a DM after several chats. The tracking is wrong and the package is delayed so I wait over the weekend and start digging on Monday. They used two shippers, one locally but gave me no tracking or information. I spent hours calling around trying to track down my package and no luck. It’s supposedly sitting at a 3pl warehouse in San Diego and my tracking just says out for delivery like it had for 4 days. After calling with no answer or call back, messaging and emailing I hear back from Denver modern via email and they said they are working on it and good news the local shipper can deliver anytime. I express that I have now stayed home for 2 days from work to wait for the delivery since that is what tracking has said and can they schedule for today. No reply. I call, no answer or call back. I finally call dispatch for the 3pl myself and she said there was no order in the system to call and schedule my delivery but she has no drivers available and could shoot for end of next week. Frustrated, I asked if I could just pick up the chair myself and she said sure. I have STILL not heard back from Denver Modern, spent hours trying to contact them and find my chair that never would have even shipped had I not been following up every few weeks. Terrible customer service which is such a shame since I loved the design...
