Located just off a major interstate with easy on/off capabilities, this large Drury Inn is situated between a newer Mall locale and Industrial/Technical district. As of this writing it stands pretty much alone in it's location, but obviously, much of the surrounding area will be built up in the near future. Numerous restaurants are within a short distance along with shops, a movie theater and typical Mall fare. Gasoline, a Post Office and Banks are close but a few minutes drive away also. Keep in mind that this review is being written during a time of pandemic, so some things may not apply when we achieve some sense of normality in the future. That being said, the facility is very well maintained and clean. Ample parking is available, the lobby has a very large sitting area and the dining area has plenty of room for social distancing. There is a small Market area should one need a snack or some necessities. Rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, sheets and bedding are clean and crisp. Our King Room had a mid size TV, refrigerator (no freezer) and microwave. Coffee maker and coffee are NOT supplied in the room for obvious reasons, but is available at the front desk for the asking. Although there are numerous outlets available, there are no USB connections in the room, a rather unusual occurrence given the newness of the facility. The bathroom is large, the shower is outstanding. A wall mounted body wash/shampoo dispenser is also a nice touch; no wasteful small plastic bottles to throw away. There is a decent pool area with indoor hot tub and combination indoor/outdoor pool and sitting area. Towels are provided. The pool is not enormous but certainly large enough for most guests. One note; with a facility this large, expect many children and families using the pool area. In my experience, later in the evening was more conducive to enjoy this area if you wish for a more relaxing time Breakfast and an evening meal and cocktail service are no longer self service; they are distributed by employees to guests individually, so expect a bit of a wait. Food options are limited but everything we ate was fresh and hot and, as far as I could tell, you can have as much as you desire. Last but not least, the employees in this facility were EXCEPTIONAL; to a person they were energetic, friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. That in itself was worth our 3 night visit. Customer service at this level starts at the top; I was impressed with the high level of care and...
Read moreI’m a regular at this hotel, until this last experience, I will never return to Drury Inn because of Deborah. She was extremely unwelcoming and just unnecessarily rude. Upon checking in she seemed a little hostile towards me bc I inquired about how much the room would cost, as I have never paid more than $113 and this time it was $131. I’d like to mention that the hotel is set up to where most of the rooms face west (towards the mountains) and the remaining rooms face east (towards a baron industrial area) and unless the hotel is low on occupancy they ALWAYS put guests in a west facing room. When I got to my room it was an east facing room and our view was literally a brick wall. I phoned down to the front desk and Deborah answered and had a rude tone and put me directly on hold. After waiting over five minutes on hold I politely requested a west facing room. She asked me to come down to the front desk and she could switch my room. Once at the front desk, she seemed extremely aggravated and it took her roughly ten minutes to figure out the room change. She acted like it was my fault. Later, when I looked at my bank account I noticed I was charged $158 instead of $131 (I’m also a drury rewards member and am supposed to receive a discount). When I went to the front desk to ask about the price discrepancy Deborah was extremely off putting, so I asked to speak to a manager. While waiting for the manager, Deborah continued to try and talk to me and aggravate me. I had to specifically ask her to stop talking to me while I waited for the manager. After waiting several minutes for the hotel manager she spoke with Deborah first and then simply brushed me off and said they were not responsible for the increase in price. If I wanted to pay $160 for a hotel I would have stayed in a nice hotel. Not to mention that the hot tub was only luke warm and smelled extremely heavily of chemicals but I arrived at the continental breakfast literally at 9:01am (it closes at 9am) and they wouldn’t serve me. I felt like I was picked out and treated poorly when I have stayed at this hotel 4 other times, with the previous management, and my family and I had amazing experiences. I have regretfully recommended this hotel to several people and after this experience I will no longer recommend...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Drury Hotel in Denver, Colorado, and I must say that my stay was far from pleasant. One of the main reasons for my dissatisfaction was the abysmal state of the air conditioning system, which not only failed to keep the room cool but also made my stay unbearable.
From the moment I stepped into my room, it was evident that the air conditioning was struggling to function properly. Despite adjusting the thermostat and waiting for a considerable amount of time, the room remained uncomfortably warm and stuffy. This made it extremely difficult for me to relax or get a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring Denver.
To add to my disappointment, the general manager's response to my complaint regarding the faulty air conditioning was disheartening. I approached her with the issue, hoping for a swift resolution or at least a sincere acknowledgment of the problem. However, instead of taking immediate action to address my concerns, the general manager seemed disinterested and unresponsive. She brushed off my complaint and failed to offer any viable solution, leaving me feeling neglected as a guest.
As someone who travels frequently for both business and leisure, I understand that technical issues can arise. However, what truly sets a hotel apart is how effectively and promptly these issues are handled. Unfortunately, the Drury Hotel in Denver fell short in this regard, demonstrating a lack of concern for guest comfort and satisfaction.
Aside from the air conditioning issue, I must mention that the overall experience at the Drury Hotel was below average. The room itself felt outdated, and the amenities provided were nothing extraordinary. The lack of attention to detail and the dismissive attitude of the general manager only added to my frustration and disappointment.
I sincerely hope that the management of the Drury Hotel takes these concerns seriously and makes a genuine effort to rectify the issues that led to such an unpleasant stay. As a paying guest, I expected a comfortable and enjoyable experience, which unfortunately was not met during my time at this hotel. Regrettably, I cannot recommend the Drury Hotel in Denver to fellow travelers based on my...
