You're likely looking for "Tacos Selene" on Santa Fe, as there's no popular spot called "Taco Celine" in that area, but "Selene" is a well-known spot. This review is based on the Tacos Selene located at 1001 Santa Fe Dr. Tacos Selene: A Denver Staple for Authentic Mexican Fare Tacos Selene on Santa Fe Drive is a local institution, a no-frills taqueria that consistently delivers on flavor, authenticity, and value. While the name might be a slight departure from what you were searching for, the food is worth seeking out. This spot is a go-to for anyone looking for a truly satisfying and delicious meal, and its reputation is built on a menu of classics done exceptionally well. The Breakfast Burrito: For many, the day at Tacos Selene begins with one thing: the breakfast burrito. This isn't just any breakfast burrito; it's a hearty, generously sized flour tortilla packed with fluffy eggs, potato, cheese, and your choice of meat. It's a filling and flavorful way to start your morning, and a favorite among locals. The beauty of it lies in its simplicity and fresh ingredients. Be sure to get there early as breakfast is only served until 10 AM on weekdays and 11 AM on weekends, and it's popular for a reason. The Smothered Burrito (The "Mother Burrito"): While the menu doesn't use the term "mother burrito," the Smothered Burro is likely what you're thinking of, and it is a true masterpiece. This is a massive, and deeply satisfying meal. The burrito is filled with your choice of meat, rice, and beans, and then completely submerged in their rich and savory pork green chile. Topped with a generous layer of melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato, this is the ultimate comfort food. The green chile is the star of the show—it's got a deep, smoky flavor with just the right amount of heat to make it exciting without being overwhelming. It's a meal that's both a challenge and a delight. Daily Specials and Menu Highlights: While Tacos Selene may not have a rigid daily specials schedule, their main menu is essentially a list of specials in itself, offering great prices on high-quality food. Their street tacos are a must-try at just over $3 a piece, with options like Carne Asada, Al Pastor, and Carnitas that are flavorful and tender. The salsa bar is a huge plus, offering a range of house-made salsas from mild to fiery, allowing you to customize your meal to your liking. They also offer menudo on Saturdays and Sundays, a classic and hearty soup that is a perfect cure for a cold day or a rough night. In a city with countless Mexican restaurants, Tacos Selene stands out for its authentic flavors, generous portions, and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a true taste of home for many, and a delicious discovery for everyone else be sure to ask for Catherine. She goes...

What an amazing operation and family success story. I recently visited Tacos Selene on Santa Fe Dr. I was so impressed with their customer service. I was talking to a young lady and turns out, she is Selene. Her family started with food trucks back in the day and then opened a restaurant first in Aurora? I think, then that was a success and so another location in Littleton and now Selene has her own location right here in the Arts District on Santa Fe. The food is fresh, tasty and you can tell they know what they are doing. They offer a fresh salsa bar which is really well kept and always looking like they just put it out. I live right here in the district and I visit every chance I get. Tacos Selene also gives back to the community. They sponsor local events and they are memebers of The Arts District on Santa Fe ADSF is a non-profit organization comprised of mainly volunteers who collectively support arts district. If you love good Mexican food, you must try...

This place clean and the staff was really nice and helpful, but the food was not very good. I ordered the chicken quesadilla without onions. It was really watery when I received it. I'm all for a dripping quesadilla if it's dripping grease or flavor, but the water coming out of it just ruined the meal for me. I made it through one slice before I gave up. I tried to add flavor with the salsa choices, but I felt they were also of a watery consistency and the hot sauces were mild at best.

I have heard good things about their other dishes, but I can only speak from experience that this one meal I was...

I ordered 2 steak tacos with cheese and a side of rice and beans l was not impressed with the quality of steak or even the taste. A lot of fatty pieces it didn’t have much flavor. I got 1 taco of barbacoa with cheese and the meat was good and soft.. it had a lot of taste. The rice and beans: the rice tasted like it wasn’t cooked all the way some pieces were soft others very hard. The beans were ok. The service from the lady in front was great and the timing of the food was quick. The salsa selection was good. Overall experience 6/10

Yes!! Finally a new restaurant along Sante Fe. I'm a neighborhood resident and Sante Fe is typically an empty wasteland void of bars or restaurants. That's been slowly changing thankfully, and we're super excited for Tacos Selene. At only $2 a taco, this place has extreme value for your buck. I got the Al Pastor, Asada, Adobada, and Pollo tacos. All were good, but the Pollo was just okay, probably would skip that one next time. The Asada was the best. They also have a huge self serve salsa station and also free guest WiFi!
