UPDATE:
Immediately after posting this review Peter, the owner, reached out to me personally to make this situtation right. He was extremely apologetic and really cared about making sure I knew this wasn't a standard he wanted for his customers and their experience. Peter issued me a refund and some. I really feel this is an exampletory way businesses should handle their customer service. I will continue to support Threyda.
ORIGINAL: I've visited this gallery during numerous openings before the pandemic and have always enjoyed myself and the community they house. However I've wanted to write a review based off of my experience in buying apparel so others are aware of my experience, especially when spending so much money. In 2019 I ordered a Threyda x Alex Grey collab hoodie as a Christmas gift. Ultimately it was stolen from my apartment building mailroom which is no fault to Threyda. My reason for the three star review is based on how it was handled.
The day after my package was marked as delivered I visited the gallery to determine if there was anything sent back to them, possibly due to shipping address errors. I spoke with Maya who reassured me to sit tight, some times things get marked as delivered but take a couple days, but to contact them if I hadn't received the packaged in a couple days. After waiting about a week after my initial delivered notification I contacted Threyda via email to communicate that it appeared my jacket had been stolen but to see if any returns had been sent in, as I was out of Christmas gift to give and a couple hundred dollars. The reply I received was a followed:
"Okay, so it's saying right now that we are sold out of the jackets, however, we will be getting in a lot of returns and exchanges over the coming weeks and we may be able to accommodate you. Check back in in a week or so! I'll check with my colleagues about potentially getting you some store credit at the very least. And again, I sincerely apologize that it appears your jacket was swiped. Let me know if you have any other questions!"
I simply never heard back after this. I had sent a couple emails after this one hoping something might be returned and I could buy another as I was willing to do so. Everything was sold out from this drop so I was kinda SOL. Again I've enjoyed Threyda for the art it houses but since this experience I have never had a desire to buy apparel from them since. I was just left with a sour taste...
Read moreI’ve purchased 3 caps, 3 hoodies and a jacket from Theyda in one year. My first purchase I was soo excited to receive my stuff, however I didn’t see my order being processed when it was supposed to. After 3-4 weeks I call and I get in contact with Jake. They was moving store location and was running behind schedule with all orders, he was sorry and because of my patience I was giving store credit and a gift. Next day I got a tracking number and my package was on it’s way. Quality stuff!
A few cool orders throughout the year – no issues.
Then I order a hoody priced at $189 and it gets sent with USPS priority mail and I get the tracking number. But then I see that the Danish postservice POSTNORD have delivered my package by ‘Flexible Receiving’ which is a service you have to sign up for to give them permission to place the package on your property which removes POSTNORD for any responsibility. However I’ve never signed that and you would be an idiot to do so where I live, next door to an auto part store. There was no package to be found at the door. I call POSTNORD and to make it short they tell me it’s unfortunately what has happened but they can’t do much unfortunately. I break down the logic for the person i’m talking with and ask if he honestly think it’s fair to pull such a gangster move on me where they just without my consent does what they want and denies any responsibility. I tell him I want my money and insist to talk with his supervisor, he then comes back and says he will give me $20 - that’s the marked value and they usually don’t do that but he wants to be nice. I refuse and call Threyda to ask if they can get the money from USPS since they cover $200 in insurance. Jake Tells me it’s a long fight and I shouldn’t worry, while I chat with Jake, he gives me a tracking number for DHL and sent a new hoodie to me for free.
This is why I love and support small business. You might think WOW $189 for a hoodie that’s expensive. Well great customer service is becoming a lost art in todays society and the products are high quality with unique art. Moral of the story – you get what you pay for. I’ve never spoken with Peter but one time I had over ½ hour conversation on mobile with Jake about art development and other interests. Jake is a cool person and have a real interest in their customers on a personal level. You’re taken good care off as a...
Read moreHad an issue with an I order placed for Christmas. I placed the order on December 8th, and received my order on the 16th. Perfect timing! Except, it was missing one of the prints I had ordered. I emailed them immediately and included photos of the invoice. But this is the Thursday night before the week leading to Christmas. I knew chances were slim that the missing print would arrive by the 24th. They responded quickly and sent out a replacement print early into the week of Christmas but this was traveling several time zones. It was scheduled to arrive on the 29th, but something happened the day of delivery. The delivery failed and it was then returned to sender. I was paying attention to the mailbox instead of the tracking number, and didn't notice what happened until the New Year started. I emailed them again, with the tracking number showing that the delivery had failed on the 29th and there was no update since then. Chris and I emailed back and forth a few times trying to figure out what had happened, Leah also helped out. Somehow there was a glitch that caused my zip code to be my street number on the mailing address. This was the case with the original order that had arrived on the 16th. For whatever reason that package had been delivered with a misprinted address but the replacement print couldn't. So they send me a final replacement print and include an extra print and some awesome stickers. My brother and his girlfriend are getting their gift a little late but it has been worth the wait and I am so pleased with how Threyda's crew handled the issue! Thank you so much Leah and Chris! The attached image is a photo of the print I bought for my wife with a...
