The hunt for thin crust pizza brought me to Denville Casa D Pizza located on East Main Street where C.V.S. is and right next to Caffe Delhi. Rather than ask this group for suggestions, I searched this page and found several restuarants that kept being named as their go to spot in Denville for thin crust pizza. Mind you, there were other places outside of Denville that have been on my radar, but wanted something close to home and was convienent. Casa D Pizza has a wood burning stove and ordered pizza off the "Thin Crust Wood Burning Pizza" menu. I ordered a cheese pie (ordered the pie with light amount of cheese, so if it seems skimpy, that is exactly how I ordered it) along with a Margherita (Crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, parmigiana reggiano, olive oil & fresh basil.) The pies come in 12 inch, or for $5 more, you can make it a large. For the cheese pie, ordered the large and for Margherita, stuck with the 12. For a Saturday night, the wait time at 600 was only about 30 minutes which was not bad at all.
To all those who have raved about the thin crush pizza, Thank You! I'm less than 5 minutes from here and by the time I dove into, the pizza was hot and tasty. No doubt the pizza sitting in the box fresh out of the oven impacts the pie, but it was still good. May very well have to try back here again when thr pies are served fresh out of the oven.
My one regret was I failed to scroll down far enough to realize they also have thin crust square pizzas as well. When preparing this review, found the Nona (Mozzarella & fresh plum tomatoes sauce) as well as the Brooklyn Style (Fresh mozzarella, plum tomato, garlic, olive oil & basil.)
Kudos to Casa D Pizza on a job well done. If your looking for a thin crust pizza, check them out and support one of the many local Denville business owners..
As a disclaimer, finally got around to posting this late on a Sunday evening so if have you craving thin crust pizza when they may be closed, I appologize but assure you that you'll be happy...
Read moreWe go out to eat several times and week and we’ve been to Casa several times, as we at Denville residents and always want to support local businesses. I would have talked to the owner about our experience tonight but nobody was there. So… We arrived just about 5:45 and immediately ordered a salad, which was delivered within minutes, at which point we ordered a pizza. We had to ask for it after waiting about 40 minutes. After our order was taken, nobody checked on us. There was a girl doing water and busing and two waitresses in addition to our waitress who has disappeared. Nobody checked on us. We didn’t see our original waitress until we had to walk up front and ask again for our pizza. We were told “it will be right out” and when we finally had it delivered by our waitress who we had not seen since she took our order, it was a very luke warm, “sorry for the delay”. How about a reason why a table of two, a family, and a table of 7 all ordered after we did and were done before we got our pie. Tell us that the order was forgotten, or that there was a misunderstanding or too many to go orders….anything! Mistakes happen but there was zero effort to sincerely apologize or try to make it right. The pizza was amazing, as always. I have to laugh at our receipt. “Server: everyone”. Lmao! How...
Read moreFood: The pizza arrived damp with a floppy crust, and the eggplant parm sub was a mess. For some reason, sauce was placed on the plate under the sandwich, which soaked into the bread, making it fall apart the moment I picked it up.
Service: We waited five minutes just to get a table because the host was inattentive—we had to wave her down to get seated. After that, it took another five minutes to receive menus and water.
Atmosphere: This was the only potential bright spot, but the experience was soured after waiting 15 minutes for our food (just two slices, a wrap, and a sub). When one of our party politely inquired about the wait—some of us were on a lunch break—the response was, “Don’t rush us; it will be out when it’s done.”
Overall, I might be naïve to expect a business to treat its customers with appreciation and respect, but this place clearly doesn’t need any more patrons. Since they seem to be doing so well, we won’t be recommending this restaurant or returning. There’s a much nicer spot just a minute down the road.
Just to add an update - instead of apologizing for the poor service and experience and inviting us back for a second chance. They condescendingly added heart to...
