Smoothie King — Restaurant in Derby

Nice and array of healthy and flavorful smoothie as well as snack options. Clean design and organized appearance. Our drinks were made quickly and tasted great. The floor was a bit dirty. This is the second time I've been to this location. Both times the staff members have not been personable. They make smoothies well, but they did not greet me once or ask how we liked our smoothies. They stood silently, waiting for an order and disappeared to the back kitchen after serving us. They came back out before we left, but we walked out without so much as a thank you. I am not a needy customer and I got what I wanted. But it would greatly improve the atmosphere to step it up and be friendlier. Customers are people too. We like to be appreciated for our business. Customer service here is terrible. I ordered 2 smoothies at a $5 discounted promotional rate. When I was charged, the cost was much higher than expected. I asked about it and they claimed it was tax. After getting the receipt I noticed that I paid normal price instead of the discounted rate I was told. The employees wound up checking or calling the manager twice. After about 5min, I finally got a refund. Instead of just refunding the difference, they refunded everything and canceled my order. One star review due to management: Around Valentine's Day I went to buy a smoothie for one of my residents at the nursing home I work at. The store had a bowl with bags full of candy and coupons so I naturally took one. When I went in today to use the coupon the store manager kept scowling at me, and accused her employee of giving it to me; giving the employee a verbal warning.
