My wife and I were in the mood for pizza for lunch yesterday afternoon and decided to give Ricochet a try. I'm so glad we did, because this was the best pizza I've had in a long time and we will definitely be going back.
The restaurant was nice and clean, well cared for, and a comfortable atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and neither too attentive, nor not attentive enough, just about perfect.
The choices on the menu all sounded great, and it was hard to choose. We ended up doing half veggie and half "the butcher," which is basically a type of meat-lovers pizza. I partly wish we'd gone for plain cheese or pepperoni, just to better taste their basics... but I'm not complaining. I've worked in two different pizza places in the past and make my own from time to time. I've eaten at countless pizza places, from mega-chains to holes in the wall no one but the locals know about, in cities from coast to coast and even a couple in Ukraine and Russia. I know my pizza, and I know what I like. If this isn't the best I've had, it's definitely very high on the list. The crust is the foundation of any pizza, and so often overlooked. I've had all sorts and it's so often what turns me off of a pizza place, or, at least, fails to impress me. But Ricochet got it right. The edges and bottom were crispy without being hard or burned, while the insides of the crust had that perfect chew without being tough or doughy. And while there were "bones" on the ends (which I generally like if the crust is good like this was), they did an excellent job of getting the toppings so close to the edge that there was very little crust left. I wouldn't have minded more of a "bone" on my pizza with this crust, but the execution here was excellent. The veggies were all fresh and flavorful. if there was ANYTHING I'd change, the tomatoes on the veggie side might have been a little smaller, but that's just personal pickiness. Everything else on that side was great. The Butcher comes with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and "ground steer." I'm a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to both pepperoni and Italian sausage on pizza. Both, here, were excellent. The pepperoni was the type that tends to bend into a cup shape when cooked. It's bite-sized and relatively thick-cut and just about perfect. The sausage was flavorful and evenly-spread. It wasn't too much meat causing a pool of grease to form on top of the pizza, but just the right amount: every bite was satisfying but not overdone. And it blended perfectly with the crust, sauce, and cheese.
As for price, we ordered a large and along with our two drinks (thankfully, they serve Coke products, no, pepsi is NOT ok!), and the mozzarella sticks, and leaving our waitress with a decent tip, we still got out of there for under $50, which lately is a great deal for us, and we had almost a half a pie left to take home.
I'm not hard to satisfy when it comes to restaurants, but I do think I'm hard to really impress. Richochet impressed me. They're a little too far to be my go-to for takeout, but we'll definitely be going back in the future. It's probably best they're a little hike for us to drive, because my waistline would be in real trouble if they were much closer.
I don't give out five stars that often, but that's what I...
Read moreOne of our go-to comfort food spots in Derry. We stopped in expecting solid bar-style bites, but what we got was way beyond expectations.
The pizza? Small but mighty. We grabbed a small pie and it nailed that classic bar-style vibe — thin, crispy crust with just the right char, a tangy red sauce, and a solid cheese melt. It’s no-frills in the best possible way, delivering bold flavor and a satisfying crunch that’s perfect whether you’re sharing apps or fueling up after a long day.
The chicken fingers? On point. Golden, juicy, and clearly not your run-of-the-mill frozen fare. These are hand-breaded and cooked just right — crispy on the outside, tender inside. Great as a meal, better with their dipping sauces.
The onion rings? A sleeper hit. Freshly done, not greasy, with that Shack-style crunch — light batter, airy texture, and a solid bite. You can tell they’re made to order, not pulled from a freezer bag.
The vibe is relaxed and casual — the kind of place where you can kick back with friends, enjoy good eats, and feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. Staff was friendly and efficient, and everything came out hot and fast.
Final verdict: If you're in the Derry area and haven't hit up The Ricochet yet, you're missing out. Whether you’re craving a classic slice, comfort food done right, or just a solid spot to hang, this place...
Read moreWoke up this morning, Phantom Gourmet in the background as we did our morning Saturday routines.. I was telling my fiancé how I wanted some nice crispy wings from anywhere. Heard of this place RICOCHET, located in Derry, just a 10minute drive for us. She got out of the shower and I said I know where we are going for lunch.
Food and service was absolutely amazing. Walk in, greeted immediately, open seating. Immediately upon entrance we noticed the greenery and cozy setting allowing the perfect vibe for our early afternoon lunch.
My fiancé ordered their chicken tenders (her go to anywhere) and I ordered the Chicken wings, perfectly seasoned, and I went with how they make them with a side of Blue cheese. Wings were amazing as were her tenders. We paired our food with a draught they had on tap of Contoocook Cider. Food and drink was 10/10
All in all, not a single thing bad to say about this place, also check out their back story to the name, and owners. In short-(Local to Derry, moved to Cali, lost home to wildfire, started a farm here, and now serve farm to table food)
Absolutely amazing. Great service from our waitress, Sydney. We WILL be back next weekend, ordered The Lenny Pep (Ricks way/thank you Phantom Gourmet) which is a LOADED pepperoni pizza, with provolone and hot honey...
