California Burrito — Restaurant in Des Moines

Honestly I LOVE California burrito it's my favorite. But I do have to say this des Moines location isn't as great.

Here are my reasons: I say this because one night I came to des Moines and got the carne asada cheese quesadilla and a Carne asada taco. but the "asada" meat used for the quesadilla was way different then the asada meat on the taco? The meat on the carne asad quesadilla was EXTREMELY SALTY where I couldn't eat it.. But the carne asada taco was great..

This Des Moines location has messed up my order 3x before.

Most importantly the service here is not great. Ho estly I haven't really ever had someone be polite to me or friendly. The women in this location can actually be very rude. They laugh and talk and text while I am trying to pay them and just aren't friendly. Tonight for example when I ordered I asked politely for only green salsa because I just throw away the red. And she thought I said I only want red. Then when I pulled up I made sure she was only getting green and she rolled her eyes and said "you said only red?" Even though I did not. Its not a huge deal but every time I come to this location I'm never greeted nicely or treated respectfully... The federal way location is 100% 5 stars super friendly women and never have messed up my orders before and they are polite too! I only go to this location for food because its close to my job!

I suggest federal ways location if its close enough! I hope they can see this and maybe work on...

My boyfriend and I stopped by here on our way home from work at the airport around11 pm the other day, looking for something quick to eat, and I had seen this before and decided to go here instead of McDonald’s, for some reason I had a good feeling about it, it is honestly so much better and you feel good eating it. It’s honestly fresh and if you don’t have a lot of money but want a good portion or just want a good size burrito even more better value than your fast-food Taco Bell, reminded me of Rubios in California where the food is more fresh! I was so tired but it is a little bit of a wait, about 5-7 minutes but it is so worth the wait. I’m very pleasant with providing my money to this place and it’s 24 hours! Definitely recommend the crispy tacos and their burritos. I worked at Taco Del Mar when I was younger and was a fan of them but this place chumps Taco Bell, Taco Del Mar literally any fast food place honestly. I’m not a huge fan of fast food, I usually make my own food but I live down the road from here about 5 minute drive in Kent-Des Moines and it’s on my way home from work in seatac. I have to say I was honestly surprised by the price, the service (it was two Hispanic ladies and they were just so sweet and showed good team work) and the whole place looked so clean. The line wasn’t too bad wasn’t over-hyped just the right amount of busy. The packaging was handled with care for sure! Keep up the good...

I used to like this place and would usually order the chicken chimichanga along with a large Mt. Dew. It was great but recently the quality of the food took a dive and possibly tainted. A couple of weeks ago I ordered my usual to notice the Mt. Dew tasted kind of off. It wasn't watered down like it needed to be changed which is a common problem at other places. There was actually a funny taste in it; it wasn't an outright bad taste but it was almost as if another product or something worse had been added. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was but it clearly tasted like something that didn't belong.

I dind't drink the Mt Dew felt that this was forgivable since their food was usually good and not worth going back there to complain. Then just now I decided to go back and order my usual. I tasted the dew before I even left the drive thru and it was fine. I drove home and noticed that the meat wasn't as high a quality as usual but it was still edible. It also seemed to be mostly dark meat which I hadn't noticed before. To me dark meat doesn't taste as good but again it was still edible. Then I noticed that taste. It was pretty much the same thing that was in my mountain dew a few weeks ago but this time it was in the food. It's as if something is in their kitchen tainting everything.

I haven't gone back to complain yet. I'm not sure it's worth the trouble since I don't plain on eating...
