Bello's Bakery & Pastries — Restaurant in Des Peres

I ordered a custom birthday cake for my birthday with very simple, yet specific coloring and a picture. Very simple and I was assured they could do it 'no problem '. I arrived a few hours before my party to pick up. I was greeted by two snotty high schools girls that walked out grinning and giggling saying there was a problem with my cake and wanted to know if I still wanted it. That was so rude. Their behavior was unbelievable. They were just brats. The cake was totally ruined. The picture was wrong. The colors were all wrong. The only thing it had going for it was the correct flavor so they said. There was no manager, supervisor or baker in the store- so these girls tell me. Nothing was done to correct the cake or the fact that I was on my way to a party with no cake.. The girls just giggled behind the counter as if their medicine was wearing off. This was incredibly unprofessional and wrong. I called and left a message asking for a return call from a manager and nothing. Dissapointing is not even close to how we left this p*ss poor bakery. Not really happy anymore this the second time I went on the store the use to make fresh donuts every morning and they were soooo good now they taste old like it been sitting out over night and they are not fresh at all so once they start making donuts again that's when I will be back i threw the ones i purchased this morning away not happy at all. Not ever coming back

This place has the best cake in town. I bought a white sheet cake out of their freezer back in early September. I was skeptical as sometimes cakes just don’t seem the same after being frozen. With this cake, that is certainly not the case. It was spectacular and still tasted spectacular a week after we opened it. I don’t know what they do that it stays so moist and fresh but I can say I’ll be getting my cakes here from here on out. My only complaint is they open a little later than most bakeries. I work close but can never go in the morning because I start at 6:00 on most days and they don’t open until 6:30. I’d patronize much more if they...
