2025 edit:
Went back for the first time in while only because I moved from the area. Met and exceeded all expectations and we loved the experience as expected.
I truly love this place.

There are several places you can eat in town and some of these have great food. What I love about Dewey's is that they have a couple options. Do you want wine and dine fair with a feel of the fancy life? If so, go to the other location.
Now, if you want the same great food served on disposable plates and in a location that takes your breathe away; welcome to the place you need to be.
This isn't the first stop people think of because it is off the beaten path. Once you find the sign on the "main road" and you make the turn, you make a slow drive down a road that leaves you wondering if you are making the right choice. The road is uneven and the wildlife brings it's own entertainment, so you wonder if good food could be at the end of this?
As you break through the subtle chaos, you approach a sand parking lot with a shack surrounded by bright colored umbrellas and the start of your view of the Bay. After you walk through the main entryway, which is a dock, and step down into a shack to place your order, the excitement really starts to build.
A friendly staff greets you as you look up at the menu. You order the fresh, grilled fish and the smoked Tuna Dip. You ask for a couple local beers to wash down the food and then you make your way to a place to sit down. Once on the dock, you sit back and enjoy the views and the company of your spouse.
The food is brought to you and kinda "dropped" into place. The tuna dip is awesome, it always is! The sides are awesome and nothing short of consistent. The grouper is rock solid, but the mahi... The mahi let you down this time. Luckily there is enough food on the table to get you both through it, but you wonder if things have changed.
This was our experience this time. We have been here over 30 times. Love this place and have had repeatedly great service on the front end. The food is usually awesome, even though the price is higher than some of the other options in town. That said, it is cheaper than eating on the board walk side of town.
We have had better experiences here and we have had worse, it's the gamble that is seafood. That said, we will always go here when we are in town and miss going there on a regular basis like we...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic! Food was fresh and delicious! The atmosphere is laid back and very comfortable with lots of seating on the water. Go right up to the window, order and pay, and take a seat. Someone comes around and calls your name until they find you! The waitstaff totally added to our good time as they were super friendly, courteous, and funny!
We went there because when we typed in "the best hush puppies in Destin", this is what came up. And let me say, they did not disappoint! They were crunchy on the outside and not oily at all, yet incredibly soft on the inside with that sweet cornmeal dough. Then there's a twist, some chopped jalepeño! It does not add any spice but instead marries the flavors of the crunchy outside, with the sweet soft inside, and rounds it out to delicious!!! I highly recommend them. I also had the most tender yellow fun tuna (sushi grade!!!). It was all accompanied by some new potatoes, corn on the cob, coleslaw, clarified butter and lemons. It was insane. The tuna was moist and cooked right. The corn and potatoes were tender and the coleslaw was fresh and light for a mayo based dressing. Also, the piece of tuna was a lot bigger than what I was expecting, so that was a total score.
It is alittle but off the main route of travel, in a tucked away location but by no means too far! It felt like more of a locals spot and not as touristy, and that totally added to charm. I will definitely...
Read moreGood morning from Destin Florida. I’m doing a deep dive into some of my favorite places in Destin, Miramar Beach, and Sandestin. Hope you come along ands get some useful information.
Dewey Destin’s Seafood is a local favorite for many reasons. It’s been around for years and you can tell. If your looking for fine dining this may not be your place. However if you into adventure, great views, good food and cold beer. This is the place worth checking out.
Located on the harbor with a great view of the happenings on Crab Island and the Destin bridge. You can’t find a better sunset spot. I must warn you that finding it might be struggle for some. The only way to get to it is via two unpacked roads and please be careful of the wildlife. The 🦅 crossing can cause a backup some days. Also the parking lot is full of rocks and holes.
Well I’ve given you all the bad points first so hopefully it will deter all those faint at heart. However for those of you who want to get unique and local flavor of Destin here it is. You now find yourself at doorway of a rickety shack with people lined up. Once you get to the front of the line order your favorite choice of seafood. I’m not giving you favorites because it’s all good. Don’t forget to order a cold beer. You will need it while you sit on wooden tables on the piers.
Now you have your food, beer, and view. Sit back and chill. Let them know...
