Awesome snorkeling. I started in one of the many coves and the current would pull you along to the next cove. I saw hundreds of fish. Plenty of hermit crabs. I saw a few larger crabs(blue and stone) and even a sea turtle. Just go with current to next cove or swim to rocks and get out. Don’t fight current back to where you started. This was on a red flag day in the morning. Conditions will vary. Free besides paying to park. $5 for five hours. You pay to park with an App. Parking area is small so come early. I got there around 815 and there was barely anyone there. I left around noon and parking lot was slammed. No hotels to contend with so you can setup right on the water. It is a Decent walk from the parking lot to first cove. 1/4 mile or less though. A ton of boats come in and out of the harbor. DO NOT navigate to this location. It will lead you to wrong area. Look up “Norriego point paddle boarding” for parking lot...
Read moreThe beach is NOT closed. You may think the beach is closed because ROAD ACCESS at the end of the street is closed. But park your car in the $5 pay parking spots and stay to the left at the trail will take you around the construction area. It's a little far perhaps if you're carrying a cooler, but if you've got kids you can carry or kids that can walk such as elementary age kids, the beaches are fantastic. There are jetties to block the waves and creates little pools for kids to play in. Sand is gorgeous. Not many people go here. You might have to go in the morning to get a parking spot. Be safe: Don't swim on the other side of the jetties because the current can be too strong and waves too rough. (There is some confusion with Noriego Point which is on the south side of the strip, that also shows as "Snorkel Beach" on Google maps. This review is for the location marked "Snorkel Beach" in Google maps, on the...
Read moreI went for a weekday visit with my boyfriend, I had been recommended several beaches on the coast but the best was this one, there are almost no waves and the day we went the weather was perfect. I would come back to this site. You can snorkel, it is not deep, the waves are calm although several boats and sailboats pass by and create some waves. With white sand and clear water! We went at the end of June 2025 and it was under construction, so they had no restrooms available and there were some closed off areas, you could hear them working on the construction. We took a Lyft-Uber to the site, we wanted to see if we could get around on public transportation but we waited at several stops for almost an hour at each for the bus but it never came, the best way to get around is to rent a car...
