Waited twenty minutes for a waitress to forget her checkbook and our order at the next table for another thirty, and when I got up to go find her our drinks were sitting on the counter and had been for a while. They forgot my entrée, so after my partner finished her meal mine arrived with the chicken burnt and the tortilla raw. Couldn't eat it. The people we were with waited forty five minutes to be told the kitchen was closed, before 9pm, leaving everyone hungry.
We figured bad luck and tried again the next day. We came in with a party of six and the head waitress told us, "Sit anywhere you like where y'all fit, hon," so we did. After waiting for another twenty minutes a server came over and yelled at us for sitting at a table they "weren't using." She then came back three more times to remind us we "shouldn't be sitting there" before finally taking our order. No refills, and it took nearly an hour to get a check for a buffet. $110 for the worst service I have ever gotten at a hotel restaurant--a buffet that had no vegetarian options and "chicken cacciatore" that consisted of bone-in legs thrown in a cheap ratatouille...
Read moreService was very very friendly and the food was well prepared. The online menu did not match their actual menu. I enjoyed the blackened chicken pasta I ordered. It lacked the bit of spice that I was expecting from "lightly spiced Alfredo" and the blackened chicken was more like normal grilled chicken. I'm a light weight with spicy seasoning - like a lot of black pepper can be spicy for me. Haha. Thus, for me to not taste any spice, it was very lightly spiced. Service was exceptionally slow however not the fault of staff as the restaurant only had one staff acting as both server & bartender and one cook to make all dinner orders. They never stopped moving to serve customers however they were just very short staffed. They managed to stay up-beat all night, even given that some customers were not pleased about the wait. There were clearly a few regulars that the bartender knew and remembered their drinks, etc. It shows that it's overall a very friendly restaurant. I enjoyed my hotel dining experience and since I knew it was going to be slow service, that didn't sour...
Read moreWe only had the breakfast buffet 2 morning during our stay at the Double Tree. It's a lovely dining area. But the buffet itself is not worth $15. It's less breakfast than we had at the Hampton we stayed at the month before, and that was included with our room! The meat in the shaffer dishes was cold. They constantly ran out of eggs. There are not enough stations, no waffles, and you have to ask for things like cereal as it's not out on the buffet. There is no breakfast menu to order from. The toaster is jacked up. You have to run your bread thru more than once to get it toasted, holding up the line. The workers are having to work too hard, running crazy keeping everything stocked and bussing tables, etc. There is clearly not enough staff for the guests that enjoy the breakfast. It will fill you up but doesn't match how upscale...
