My perfect snowy morning in Michigan❄️#detroit #normsdiner #detroitfood

Norm’s has become our little weekend ritual, and honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. My boyfriend and I drive in from the suburbs just to come here, and every visit feels like comfort wrapped in a plate. He’s faithful to the Two Eggs Breakfast and never stops raving about it. According to him, the bacon here is the best in the world (and trust me, he takes his bacon seriously). The eggs are always perfectly cooked, and the rye toast? I think we both agree—it’s the best either of us has ever had. I don’t eat meat, but seeing him so happy with that breakfast makes me just as obsessed. I stick to the Veggie Breakfast Sandwich with potatoes or the Breakfast Salad (I always swap the meat for avocado or something veggie-friendly). Every bite is fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. And yes—I always add a side of rye toast, because it’s just that good. What makes Norm’s extra special is how it feels. The staff are the kindest people, and the place itself is cozy without trying too hard. We usually play tic-tac-toe on the kids’ menu while waiting for our food (best two out of three picks up the bill 😉). It’s silly, sweet, and somehow makes breakfast here feel like a date every single time. And the best part? You never wait long. Even on busy weekends, you’re seated quickly, and the food comes out just right—hot, delicious, and worth the drive. Norm’s isn’t just a diner, it’s a little piece of happiness for us. If you’re anywhere near Detroit, do yourself a favor and stop in. Who knows—you might just find your new favorite tradition here too

Really enjoyed my breakfast here and looking forward to coming back. Atmosphere inside was small, but gave cozy neighborhood diner vibes with small floral decorations adorning the tables. I got the lox plate with a side of the fries (I asked for a side of mayo- it appeared to be housemade with some fresh herbs in it, nice surprise), my partner got the breakfast special, and everything turned out delicious. It was a busy morning, but service was not delayed and staff were super friendly and attentive. We were sitting at the bar rail and could see that everything coming out of the window looked neat and uniform on the plate. No complaints.

This was my second visit, and I’m growing tired of trendy new restaurants that just don’t live up to the hype. When you’re paying premium prices, it’s frustrating to walk away feeling underwhelmed. For instance, $5 for a side of potatoes amounted to just four small red skins—and for the classixn breakfast, you receive 2 small red skins. That’s just not cutting it.

All three of our over-medium eggs were badly overcooked: yolks hard, bottoms browned, and so tough you couldn’t even cut them with a knife. The only redeeming part of the meal was the gravy—it was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, that was the sole highlight.

The water tasted like it had just come from a freshly sanitized swimming pool, and even the pancakes were overdone. It may look great on Instagram, but this place struggles with the basics. Diners might seem simple, but pulling off simplicity well clearly isn’t...

delicious food, cozy atmosphere, amazing staff. I ordered the pancakes and BLT sandwich. The pancakes were fluffy and moist, the BLT had the perfect amount of each ingredient. They have cool mismatched coffee mugs that make you feel at home. there are beautiful flowers in unique vases. The staff were so personable! Our waiter was so chill and really brought a good vibe to the experience. She was so friendly, often saying small positive comments (ex: complimenting manicure, asking about the activities on back of menu) She was also patient and brought us our food quickly. The only critique that i could have was that i would have appreciated a few more breakfast options like french toast or cinnamon rolls, but I understand why it would be easier to not do that. Overall, the service and atmosphere were a 10/10 and the food...
