I debated about leaving this review but decided it needed to be said. Growing up, Camino was always a pretty reliable place to get good Mexican food. Prior to today’s visit, I had been 1 time in the last year and my family was underwhelmed with the service provided for the price paid during that visit. Regardless, today we decided to give the benefit of the doubt and try them again, hoping for a great experience. Instead, we got a worse experience than before- to the extent that I feel compelled to leave a review.
1st, We placed drink orders when seated. We were brought chips, queso etc, and we continued to wait for waters and coke. After 10 mins and a basket of chips, I relented and asked again for drinks. The server apologized and brought them out. No big deal I thought.
Next, we ordered our meals- nachos, a chimichanga, and 2 sides of rice. We then proceeded to wait 40 MIN! for food that never came. We observed our server sitting in a booth on her phone for most of our visit and though she came by to offer refills, she never offered any update on our food until I again was forced to ask (after 40 mins) “so, uh…where’s the food”. She rushed to the back, then to the front, and was never seen by me again. No idea. We waited a few min longer, hoping the ship was about to be righted. Still no food.
The final straw was seeing the guy next to us get his food within 5 min of being seated. We got up to leave and pay our tab for the queso and coke. The only reason I’m comfortable giving an extra star is because the owner/ manager did offer an apology at checkout and refused to allow us to pay for the queso and coke. I appreciated that. All restaurants have bad days.
I hope this review is viewed by them as an opportunity to provide a better experience. I’m not often one to publicly blast a local business. I love small businesses; but 2 experiences like this back to back, and I have to wonder why there aren’t more negative reviews. Fortunately, as we all know, there’s no shortage of...
Read moreI order takeout here several times a month however after tonight’s experience i will never be going back. The prices continue to get higher and the food and quality continue to go down hill. I had a very hard time ordering tonight because when I called in the music was so loud I felt like I had to yell for the gentleman on the phone to take my order and he had to keep repeating himself because I couldn’t hear over their music. I said my order twice. When I arrived to pick it up there was one woman working the register and seating people and it was rather busy. Another employee was literally just standing in the corner by a booth doing nothing. Then a man came in after me to pick his order up and he cut line, no one corrected him either. Then I went to check out and the order wasn’t ringing up my husbands burrito correctly. I told her I didn’t think that was correct but she became argumentative and had an attitude and after working a 10 hour shift I didn’t feel like arguing so I just took it. I get home 30 minutes later and should have had my meal, my husbands meal, and two kids meals. Well one of the kids meals was missing all together and I was so upset because I have worked all day and now I don’t have a meal for one of my kids. I called back and asked to speak to the manager she finally came to the phone and was just like well we all make mistakes. I reiterated that I understood mistakes happen but I was upset paying for something I never received and even more so that I didn’t get one of my children’s meals. She said I don’t know what you want me to tell you. You can have a free kids meal next time. I was like well I appreciate it but that doesn’t help me tonight. You can tell just by her town she was annoyed and customer satisfaction is not a priority. They must have new staff because this place is not what...
Read morePretty good for tacos and Mexican food. I've been going here for years. Great tacos, enchiladas, Chile poblanos, and more. Great service most of the time. For this reason I give 5 stars.
BUT
If you're contemplating the mole sauce dishes, id pass. It's nice to see the option but I'm pretty sure it came from the jar (which might be okay if done properly). My enchiladas were topped with this thick grainy paste with clumps of dried powder. Since it was so thick it left the chicken and tortilla plain and dry. Chicken was so chewy I had to leave pieces of it. If you guys read this please work on that because I think Dickson would appreciate a good mole sauce.
Everything else is pretty good. I enjoy their tacos frequently. I like that you can chose pork, and I like that they have...
