To start off, I grew up eating at this restaurant. This was where my family would go for any special occasion but after recently I will be taking my business elsewhere.
We went on Monday night around 8, so wasn’t expecting it to be super busy but maybe a few people and there was 2 people in the whole restaurant...we figured out why very shortly. As soon as you walked in the door the smell of sewage and cleaning supplies hits you in the face. We talked about leaving (party of 6) but didn’t want to be those jerks that sit down and immediately get up and leave, and 4 out of 6 of us LOVE this restaurant. We decide to stick it out and ordered a couple of pitchers of margaritas to share with everyone. The waiter checked the IDs VERY thoroughly. Which I mean I get it. I’m 23 so I get that quite often but my boyfriend is 28 and just recently moved to Tennessee from Minnesota and the waiter instantly turned into a different person. He asked for another form of ID, which we don’t have because this is his drivers license. The guy then abruptly left and EVERYONE that was working in that restaurant started analyzing his ID. Again, I get it. It’s a different state ID that probably doesn’t end up in Dickson, TN very often. They had his ID for a solid 5 minutes before bringing it back and even then was reluctant to even serve. The waiter came back to the table a few minutes later asking for our order and we asked for the extra glasses and margarita pitcher and this man rolled his eyes, flatly said “yeah” and then just stood there. Unacceptable. The waiter never once came back except to drop off the check only because one of us went to the front and asked for it. We had to ask for water for two people in the party who never got it to begin with, refills, and the check. The food was probably the most poor quality I’ve ever eaten at this restaurant. Service alone will never make me go back and the food was just the cherry on top. There’s plenty of other places for much...
Read moreMy husband and I just left after receiving the worst attitude from the manager and our waiter. It started when we came through the doors and asked to be seated outside, we asked if they allowed smoking on the patio, his response was "Yeah." But with an irritated tone. We came to realize this was the manager... once seated, our waiter comes and puts down an ashtray and says... Drinks. Not even in a question form, I said tea my husband says water the waiter turns to go and my husband raises his voice to say "with lemon, please." Waiter continues to walk away without acknowledging my husband. Service continued this way all the way through dinner. I knew my husband wasn't going to leave a tip and also could potentially embarrass me by saying something slick. So, I told him I was going to the bathroom and not going to let him do that to me They were all standing around a table when I walked over and asked for 2 to go containers, and handed her a $5 bill to give to the waiter. And said make sure he gets it because my husband damn sure isn't going to tip him. I went to the truck. My husband comes out saying the staff just escorted him to the register. They took what I said as we weren't paying our bill. Your restaurant will never, see another penny from my...
Read moreOur family has come to this restaurant for years. The staff are super friendly and the food is good. The building and facilities are clean. There is an outdoor patio area; I believe that it is even closed and supplied with heaters for tobacco using customers when it is cold outside.
I usually just get the regular american-mexican stuff here- fajitas, burritos, chimichangas, soft tacos and the like. All of these menu items are good in taste and serving size. However I would suggest ordering an extra foil of tortillas with dishes are served with tortillas.
I’ve also ordered specialty plates like the Guidada de Puerco as well. The sauce was very flavorful with a touch of heat. The pork was tender and as with most of these types of dishes there can be a little fat or gristle in the meat. It was mostly soft and tender. The refried beans with cheese and rice sides were also good.
As a first time diner I would stick to the main line menu items at this restaurant- you will not be disappointed! After you have eaten here a decade or so and want to get adventurous go ahead and try some of the other stuff, but I bet you will still revert to the fajitas, burritoes, and...
