My husband and I have been living in Dickson, TN now for about 18 months and we decided to have dinner at Colton's last night. We just sat down and the waitress (DXXXXe) came up and immediately asked if we wanted an appetizer. My husband explained that we had just sat down. She walked away and came back a few minutes later. We ordered some drinks (she didn't ask if we wanted cold glasses) and she walked away. She brought our drinks and my husband had to ask if she could bring me a cold glass. She appeared to be annoyed by this question but she eventually gave me a cold glass. We told her what we wanted for an appetizer and she left to put that order in. She came back and we gave her our dinner order. A cool looking guy in a fedora and black sun glasses delivered our appetizer. DXXXXe walked past a couple of times and my husband stopped her to order another round of drinks. She looked at our table as to think about whether she should remove some of the empty bottles and plates, but walked away instead. our food was delivered and we have to say, it was quite tasty. We were very satisfied with the quality of the food. Not long, here comes DXXXXe again, only this time she brings our check and sits it on the table and walks away. At this point, we are not sure if we are allowed to order anymore drinks or even a dessert. We never received any further attention from DXXXXe until it was time to pick up the check and bring us our receipt. Perhaps DXXXXe needs some training on interacting with dining customers. We will be back, but hope to receive a...
Read moreHad my first really bad experience here this evening (8-1-23). First, I asked for a certain server. The hostess told her partner which table to take me to. The table was serviced by someone other than who I had requested. (Maybe she's off tonight.) After I ordered, I saw my requested go into the kitchen. Strike one, didn't get the server I wanted. Now, as to the server I did have. Suffice to say, Cole is not even on the running for server of the year, at least not in my opinion. First, I asked for no tomato on my salad, but, when he brought it, there they were. When I pointed this out, he took it back, but with a sigh of disgust. I had ordered the queso dip for an appetizer. Another server brought it out, to the wrong table, and took it back. Cole comes almost running to my table, asked if I had ordered that. I was told, by Cole,, "that's what he just brought out." I advised him that the server did not come to my table with anything. When the entre arrived, all of it was just the way I had ordered. Totally enjoyed it, even though I had no drink for the last half. The reason for this, Cole didn't ask if I wanted more. To top it all off, a manager picked up the final dishes from my table. He asked how everything was and I told him the food was great but the service sucked. He asked who my server was and I showed him my ticket. He acknowledged that he saw it and proceeded to walk away. He didn't even ask what the problem was. Not what I would have...
Read moreWhile taking a friend to BNA airport in Nashville, we looked for a steakhouse on the route and discovered Colton's. I needed a large parking area (I was pulling a 22 ft trailer) and they had a great lot with plenty of spaces for the lunchtime crowd. They had 3 greeters and took us directly to a booth and a waiter was there immediately. The raspberry tea was my starter and I will choose it again, I enjoyed it. We were offered fabulous yeast rolls and butter, they were excellent, I might add. The menu was easy to navigate and the waiter was eager to answer our questions concerning certain ingredients in the appetizers. I chose salmon and sweet potato, my friend selected smoked sirloin and added shrimp, he felt that a couple pieces of the sirloin was a lil tough and made the observation and they brought him 2 more and waited for him to test it before returning to their duties, without a hint of reservation. Their treatment of his observation was so above expectation that they receive an A+ in my judgement. He was taken back a bit by their response and felt bad about it but I will reference this every time I recommend their restaurant. My salmon and the dipping sauce was excellent, the sweet potato was large, well cooked and the cinnamon and butter was just right, I really enjoyed my meal at Colton's. They are located on the southeast side of the Dickson Tn exit, if you travel I-40, you may obtain a satisfying meal at that...
