TL:DR - I'm not happy or excited to leave a review this negative but value is especially important to people right now. The value and taste just aren't there. I have never experienced a burger like this at an actual cook out. I have gotten much better value and better tasting burgers from gas stations (not even remotely exaggerating or joking). If you're looking for a decent value and at least "good" food for your money, you might want to look elsewhere.
Pros - The drive-thru line speed was reasonable for it's length and the staff interactions were friendly enough. My order was correct on the receipt
Cons - The food was below average for quality & quantity vs. price.
Rating Explanation - 2 Stars ONLY because the employees were nice and fast enough, as well as seeming competent for what they have to work with. I would rate 1 Star if 0 Stars was an option. The only stars I can give is due to the service, not the food. The service was actually kind of surprising considering the service at most fast food chains is atrocious lately (super slow, orders are horribly incorrect and/or the employees are unpleasant to interact with).
Full Story - I decided to give them another shot tonight, I haven't been there since a very underwhelming experience right after they opened and figured I'd try it again since there always seems to be a line in the drive-thru (I do NOT understand why there is always a line). After this experience, nothing has changed since the first time and I won't be going back for a third.
I ordered a "Big Double" with bacon, lettuce, tomato and pickle with a large fries. The total came to $8.15.
The so-called "Big Double" has patties which are barely larger in area than a Krystal burger patty (if I had scales I would have weighed them) and very close to the same thickness of a Krystal burger patty but were EXTREMELY dry. After I got home, while I was adding cheese (I don't like Cheddar cheese, I added my own American cheese.), I was so utterly underwhelmed in the value I had received, I had to take pictures of it. It also had considerable area which was nothing but bun (I tore off the parts of the bun which had nothing between top and bottom of bun).
After showing it to a family member, I was compelled to submit the pictures with a review in case anyone looks to the reviews hoping to ascertain what type value they will receive at this establishment.
Side notes : My apologies to the Cook Out employees, I don't know if this will have any impact on your work, but this was kind of awful. I also removed the cashier's name from the receipt, it's irrelevant information since the order appeared to be correct and I'm not looking to denigrate employees for the quality / value received at the establishment, the issue is outside of their purview of responsibility.
I included a Bicentennial quarter in the disassembled picture for...
Read moreI have eaten at this location multiple times and I am deeply disappointed with the experience tonight, I ordered a chicken sandwich and after taking a bite I noticed it had a weird texture so I looked at the rest of the sandwich and noticed it was pink throughout the whole sandwich. The sandwich was than taken to the staff with the portion that was bitten off on the foil and the rest there along side it, I was told “next time don’t eat half the sandwich and than complain” as if it was my fault that the chicken was raw and only 1/4 of the sandwich was bitten off so the food and customer service was already bad at this rate, than 15 minutes later they call out “chicken sandwich” I walk up and it isn’t there and a employee walks past sits down and proceeded to eat the exact sandwich I ordered so another 5 minutes pass and I’m being laughed at by employees and my sandwich is finally ready and you would think with 20 minutes they could of Atleast make my sandwich correctly, now there is all kinds of toppings on the sandwich that are not normally on this sandwich unless requested and there was what looked like pubic hairs in the center of the bun mixed in the sauce I am glad I inspected the sandwich before consuming. Over all story is do not go to this location because the employees are incompetent and the store should be shut down and reopened with employees that can actually cook a sandwich and have proper manners also the restaurant was very dirty even tho the lobby was completely...
Read moreThe menu this place offers is very diverse with all the options. It is the only establishment that you can order a meal like this and for that KUDOS! When my favorite the grilled chicken is fresh with the normal condiments and toppings on it, its amazing! in fact the only grilled chicken sandwich in the area besides going to a sit down restaurant, again for that KUDOS! Now we need to talk about the chicken quesadilla as a side no lie awesome option as a side, but PLEASE COOKOUT address the lack of chicken in your company. I feel like you take a chicken breast chop it down to powder sprinkle it the cheesy tortilla and call it a chicken quesadilla, NO! 1 sandwich breast does not equal 12 chicken quesadillas PLEASE STOP THAT. The cheese curds are tasty as well except the personal goals dont allow me to order them like that. The sweet tea is usually on point far better than next door if your from the area you know! (It just aint their review) Ive only had a chocolate milkshake from here and the ¼ inch pvc pipe of straw was a definite sign it was goin to be thick and tasty, that it was! I dont know the exact number but they offer silly amounts of milkshake options. All in all i describe this place as exactly what its named if you went to a friends, relatives or neighbors cook out this is what it would taste like off the grill smokey goodness with tons of options. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area...
