I was at the landmark dealership and went to yelp to find a place close by for dinner. I had a lot of good options to choose from, once I came to Conch Heaven I knew where I was going. Conch Heaven is a Bahamian restaurant. I called to see if I could place a to go order over the phone, the lady said yes and I proceeded to give her my order. My food was ready when I arrived, approximately 10 minutes later. I went with conch fritters, mac and cheese, jhonny bread, peas and rice. There wasn't too many people inside so I decided to dine in and ordered a slice of rum cake and Jamaican Kola. The restaurant is very small with limited bar seating, with about 11 chairs at a counter top. The young lady at the receptionist was very friendly and had a smile. I took a bite of each item that I ordered and every single item was delicious. Conch fritters were $7 and the amount of conch inside the breading was perfect. The portions are huge, enough for two people and the price was perfect, less than $20 for my entire meal. I ended up taking half of my order to go. Read moreConch Heaven.....the name is so fitting. First off let me say I was a bit skeptical when I saw steam conch on the menu. Oh I'm a chef and I'm also West Indian(Antigua).....growing up I was used to seeing conch prepared in soup or in a stew, fritters or salad. Never steamed so eyebrows were raised but still intrigued nonetheless. I ordered the cracked conch (had no idea what this would be), I love conch so why not. Got it with Rice n peas, macaroni pie, potato salad and fried plantain (too much starch I know but this is what Sunday dinner was like)
So from a scale of 1-10, I rate it a 15! It was that good. This food tasted like I was back home at a wedding waiting in a buffet line for an hour....it was so good!!! Rice and macaroni pie legit tasted like something my aunt or grandmother made. Conch was good it was different to me but got the job done! And let me tell you about this potato salad...usually I don't order potato salad because its usually a hit or miss but it was on point!
Bless up!!! Super excited to see Caribbean food...
Read moreLove it... love it... love it....How do they get the conch to taste so fresh being that were not on the coast??🤔 Trust me old conch taste like paper and is tuff and chewy. Theirs however is very meaty. Im from Miami where conch is a sensational delicacy. There are very few places up here that taste THIS GOOD!!. It's usually a miss with hopes to hit that taste you were expecting going conch spot, after conch spot! In my opinion Conch Heaven hands down is the best in Atlanta in Miami they might have a lil competition but in Atlanta they're the best! Ive tried Conch City and there conch is brown???..They called it Savannah conch. It was chewy and very oily. Could easily steer you away if it’s your firs time eating it conch, so I wouldn’t recommend them first. The Louisiana places have conch but its not too fresh...I Love Conch Heaven the menu is the same as it is in...
