TLDR: TERRIBLE customer service, over priced, false advertisement, buying cheap and instant ingredients.
I used to live around the corner from here and frequented this place OFTEN. And it wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either. We moved away, and now we’re back and this place has gone.. downhill. We used to ALWAYS get the iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk because it’s our favorite. Well, when we got ours it was severely watered down (if you’ve ever had viet coffee you know that that’s not normal) and had a weird taste. Turns out, they use instant coffee which is not the same at allllll, barely put any ice in it and had the audacity to charge us $5 for it. We literally took 1 sip out of it and insisted she took it back bc it was nasty and she refused to. The pho was fine. But let’s talk about their price gouging and false advertisement tactics. They only have a large and XL pho. We get our “large” pho, it was most definitely a medium. We frequent a lot of viet restaurants on Buford Hwy, and I promise the bowl is not a large. At the end of our meal, we asked for the check. One would assume they’d take the disgusting coffee off of the check. What they did was take 10% off of everything which ended up being less than the coffee. (The coffee was $5) I’m glad we still got some money off, but I just wanted the coffee off of the check completely. They did the most over $2. All they had to do was take it off. We’re not the type of people to expect a free meal after minor problems. What we do expect is to have an item that isn’t good, after one sip, to be taken off and removed from the check instead of tricking us into thinking you’re doing something nice for us by discounting “everything.” You can also tell they’re losing business too because when we came every Sunday, it’d be PACKED. When we went during lunchtime this Sunday, there were two other tables sat. For two phos, and the discounted coffee, it was $33. Ridiculous. I guess Dai Loi will be our Sunday...
Read moreFirst time here... Food was hot coming out. The egg rolls were good the lemon pepper wings came with fries which actually surprised me but the their was no seasoning.
The pho was on point which I truly appreciate it. The restaurant was huge and have an event hall on top.
It did seem as if they were short staffed so just be prepared for patience.
Overall, I would recommend it.
Follow up....
I came back with my lady friend 3 days later because I liked it so much. Unfortunately the customer service wasn't as pleasant as it should have been.
I ordered their x107 (shrimp & rice plate I believe) & a order of wings. Food came out hot which I appreciated. The waiter did not refill our water. He never asked if we needed anything after he brought us our food.
The place was not packed but customers were searching for someone to take the to go orders. As I mentioned earlier be prepared to be patient.
When it was time to pay the waiter came to the table with his credit card machine, I already had my CC out waiting to give him which he saw. My friend was looking for her card & when he arrived to the table she pulled her card out & gave to him. I told him no I was going to pay. (Now I appreciate if a woman picks up the tab but I recommended the place so I didn't expect her to pay) He took her card & proceeded to pay after I clearly told him I was paying.
There was a word exchange about how I felt disrespected & he cancelled the order & allowed me to pay. That was not cool. The food was hot but the customer service is disappointing & my lady friend apologized to me as she knew I was frustrated over being dismissed.
I am changing the service from 5 to 3 because of this incident. The food was good enough to bring someone & share the experience but the service I was very disappointed
Just know what you are getting...
Read moreI Luv Pho is a great place to get Vietnamese cuisines and other various Asian dishes. I will give this restaurant a four star. The staff greeted us right away and showed us to our seats. There was a lady at the front desk, who didn’t look too friendly and didn’t greet us when we came in. The place is friendly and clean. It is spacious and has a second floor, which I think is cool. They brought us water, but it took awhile for the wait staff to come back and get our order. My friend and I both got chicken fried rice and he got a #12, egg rolls, spicy hot wings, and crabmeat Rangoon. My friend started to get anxious because it a while for them to bring our food. We weren't aware of how large the plate for fried rice was until they brought in our food. It was plentiful and not that expensive. The crab meat tastes better when it is warm, but by the time our food came it was already cold. The egg rolls were overpriced for two rolls and the chicken wings were a big disappointment because you only get 4 pieces. The noodles had different kinds of meat, such as beef, pork, meatballs, filet mignon, flank, bibble tripe, and tendon ; the flavor of the soup was amazing. We couldn’t finish our fried rice because it was a plate full. The staff came to check on us for water and asked us how the food was. We had to wait awhile to get the staffs attention because we needed a to-go box and to receive our bill. Over all we loved the place. The food was great, not too overpriced. It was clean and if you sit by the window, you will get to see a great view at night. I definitely recommend this place and I will be going back...
