TLJ used to be really nice but they practice shrinkflation. I've been buying the red bean and cream buns for at least 7 years and they've gotten smaller but price has approximately doubled. I was ok with paying more since that's how things are now but the last few I got were of bad quality and that's why I'm reviewing. The bread was awful- like eating a dry sponge, absolutely not on par for a "French-Asian bakery" item. The cream used to be just like homemade buttercream but now it's closer to buttercream icing from a container. They skimp on the fillings compared to before too.
Also the last time we went the checkout tablet had an unskippable tip menu- minimum possible tip was 10%. I always tip on the rare occasion I get a drink there, but I think it's ridiculous to be forced to tip the store for an order of all shelf items, i.e., all buns and nothing that had to be prepared for me in the moment. Maybe they slightly changed their checkout menu and I didn't see the opt-out button but trust me I looked.
Seems like the company has a greed problem. They should pay their employees enough not to require tips (if those tips even GO to the actual employees) and they could make that money by fixing the quality of...
Read moreWe (7 family members) really love smoothie bubble tea and soft white bread. We had good customer service with a young 22 ish man AND elder white haired lady, super NICE! BUT recently a tall 5'9-ish dark eyebrowed lady AND a 40-ish dark brown haired lady have been rude. On our latest walk in the tall lady was rude and the old lady kicked us off the shop because she was mopping. She told 2 customers including me and another lady she wont be taking more orders which is understandable :( .So my dad did order and since he already ordered she walked up and gave us our "Bubble tea taro smoothies." With an attitude and OPENED THE STRAWS WITH HER HANDS TOUCHING OUR STRAWS !! (side note: after moping) I did not allow her to touch mine . she over heard my mom say these are "smoothies?" and she threw a fit that she told my dad she had explained this. clearly no and there was alot of ice... (over half of the cup). We loved coming here every so often, we will not be...
Read moreI cannot believe I am writing this 1 star review right now. I love this place & their breads. However, what happened after tonight may result in me never coming again. Google and Apple Map says that this place close at 8:00pm. I got there at 7:50pm. I asked the guy putting the pastries away if he has a specific bread. This man has earphones on and an attitude. He just said âweâre close and we ran out of those bread.â I saw that all the lights were still on & register still up & ask him if he can just ring me up really quick. Besides, it was not even 8:00pm! He said âI really canâtâ. Seriously?! This store does not honor the hours of operation but also has lazy/rude employees who canât even help a buying customer out. I wasnât even there to browse. Why such in a rush to close? Thatâs how you lose revenue because I will never come back. Too many bakeries around doraville that are helpful and doesnât decide to close 10 minutes before theyâre...
