DO NOT USE THE QR CODE ON YOUR RECEIPT TO PAY YOUR BILL
We were a group of 4 adults, with 2 separate bills.
When the waitress brought our receipt, we noticed you could pay by scanning the QR code printed at the bottom of the receipt. That’s what we did using an iPhone. The amount and charge also showed on our bank statement accessible by app.
A few minutes later, we were about to leave, as the other group at our table was paying cash. The waitress says the ticket we just paid and had proof of paying, wasn’t showing as paid but the other ticket that wasn’t ours, and for a different amount, was. We told them no, clearly something is wrong because we scanned the receipt you gave us.
I asked her to get the manager, who comes to the table, short, slim gentlemen dressed in all black. He says nothing expect pay this ticket and walks off, I try and explain what happened and he refused to listen to a word I had to say. Zero communication. As he walks off I inform him I’ll be forced to call the police.
After calling the police and explaining the issue they send two officers. For civil reasons they turned out to be of no help at all.
As I was walking out with the police behind me the manager said something smart and I told him to “go f himself” which led to the officers threatening me with jail time. Yay!
I remove myself immediately from the situation. The issue was never resolved.
The other people I was with had to “pay” my bill which was a completely different total than what their bill should have been. The waitress mentioned this was a known issue and the manager even tried to hand the rest of my group cash from his wallet while they were walking out.
After calling the bank they stopped payment and are investigating but do yourself a favor and stay the hell away from this place.
Lemon Ricotta French toast was amazing, too bad I’ll never...
Read moreI had a wonderful breakfast with my son , but let me tell ya why I’m here , If you have been in food service you can usually tell if the server is new or in training this day he was , Actually was impressed very attentive , polite and somewhat knowledgeable about the menu . My son ordered a waffle and I had a breakfast sampler , The server grabbed the wrong sampler and served it to me I noticed right off the bat my eggs were wrong , I didn’t mind I’m not to picky so I began to eat , well what I did NOT and I mean did not appreciate was hearing them scold the sever the entire corner of the restaurant could here that’s embarrassing and I have been there before! Then some lady with grey hair and glasses comes to my table and attempted to just take my plate “ oh here it is “ ya he served the wrong one , I said ok but I have already ate off the plate at this point she had the plate in her hand as if she was going to take it right back to the warming window and then reserve it . That’s a no no. And after this kind of this incident I could bet it’s happened several times and the person eating the food had no idea . 🤮 gross what if I had coughed or stuck my finger in it prior to any of it ? And for the lady to just come to my table and pick up my plate with out first explanation of what in the hell you are doing . I tipped the server and assured him i was fine . People are human ya know and if you people are keeping him on eggshells then he is more than likely going to mess up more . What she did was more disgusting and disrespectful to the customer in my opinion. You was legit about to take my plate and reserve it . ( I had only eaten 1 of my sausages) if it was a wander. Will not return based on my experience with her . That’s a shame . How long have you been in food service ? And then people wander how they...
Read moreThis is the second time I have gone to the Dothan, Al IHOP and had a horrible experience. The first time was about a year ago. Some friends and I really wanted IHOP, so we stopped by the Dothan location. They were not only rude, but they were out of everything.
After the previous experience, we decided we just would not go back for awhile. So tonight, we decided to give it another shot. Again, the experience was horrible. It was around 8:30 PM when we got to the restaurant. We were greated by a rude waitress (Kayla). Because she was rude, we decided to sit in another section so she would not be our server. This server was amazing. She had a huge party and was able to get us drinks and take the party's orders in a reasonable time. When it came to take our order, she informed us that the fryers were being cleaned and they could not do any fried foods. Not even fries. There are a lot of fried items on the menu. How can you not be able to cook half of your menu an hour before you close? Also, the manager was rude. How can you be the manager and be rude to customers?
I would think twice before visiting this IHOP. We certainly will not be back for a long time.
P.S. We went to Denny's after we left. Much better service, quality food, and...
