I was in dothan running around on Saturday the 5th for my sons Jrotc fundraising and decided to come to hotts to get me a chicken salad and fruit plate, and let me tell you this place was slammed. It was like nothing I've ever seen. It seemed to be only 2 people actually working that knew what to do. I saw 4 other workers that seemed overwhelmed. I could tell it would be a little bit and I wasnt in a rush so I sat and listened to the wonderful Christian music.
While I waited I watched the workers run around like chickens with there heads cut off and was quite impressed with how they were dealing with the customers. It was pretty apparent that they were either short handed or had newbies and they weren't rush ready. the guy and young lady did amazing. They looked determined to get everyone taken care of and Can tell they were overwhelmes but did the job with smiles on there face and constantly assuring people they are working on there orders. my food was finally ready, the young girl brings it to me and I asked her name and the man's. She said John was the manager and her name was so easy for me to remember because of my favorite 80s singer, alanis morissette!!! I didnt keep her long because I knew they were busy. But I told her she was doing an amazing job and that her and her manager should be recognized for that. KUDOS TO ALANIS AND JOHN, YALL WERE AMAZING AND MY CHICKEN SALAD WAS...
Read moreNot impressed. Prices seem way high, especially for the quality of food. My son really wanted pizza for lunch, and while I had never eaten at Hots, I knew pizza was on the menu. I ordered a 7" cheese and pepperoni for him. So first thing, there's no crust on the outside to hold onto, so you're either sticking your fingers in the toppings or eating with a knife and fork. I decided knife and fork was the way to go given my son is 5 and didn't want to deal with the mess. So that brings me to issue #2. Calling this a pizza is a stretch. It has pizza toppings and pizza sauce...and it's round...that's about where the similarities end. This was clearly a tortilla "crust", which would make this closer to a quesadilla than a pizza. Crust really is the wrong word, because it implies crispness or firmness. This had neither. It was about what you'd expect from a floppy tortilla with greasy toppings on it.
The sandwich I had wasn't bad, but it was probably the most vanilla sandwich I've had outside of two slices of white bread and some Oscar...
Read moreMy very favorite place to eat in Dothan. I always get the southwestern quesadilla and a large Mountain Dew. I don’t normally drink Mountain Dew, but for some reason, the little ice balls mixed with the fountain Mountain Dew makes it irresistible to me. I’m sure everything is great here, but I would have no idea as I’ve been coming here for 15 years and I’ve never ordered anything else. It’s that good. The atmosphere is a lunch vibe, I always see people I know and are able to talk to them easily in passing. The staff has always been very nice, even though they are super busy. If you go often, be sure you get a Hot’s Deli frequent-visitor cards. After 6 purchases of any regular priced sandwich, pizza, or large salad you get $3 off any order. I stamp per visit. I think I’m on my 50-1100th card. 😂 It’s best to get there around 11 if you want to get in there and get out quickly. They do usually have a line if you get there after 11:30 or so. They have ample parking and the location is...
