Happystance Dinette — Restaurant in Douglas

Had our first visit to Happystance this morning and there was some good some bad. The atmosphere was good, we enjoyed the outdoor seating area and it wasn't overcrowded or overly loud. The food was pretty good, decent portions and everything was cooked well. The biscuits and gravy tasted great, but there was nowhere enough gravy to match the 4 biscuits. It tasted great, just not enough. The standard breakfast was... Pretty standard. The bacon was delicious but could've been crispier and the potatoes were overly salted. Where our visit fell short was the service. The food came out fast, so the kitchen was fine. Our waitress (unsure of name) was quite rude. This was not limited to us, she was overly rude to every table close to us. In addition we saw her forget requests of other tables. This place is really nice, very clean and the staff are very professional. My partner had buttermilk pancakes with whipped cream, strawberries, etc. He loved it and the presentation was very well done. He rated it a 4, it looked like a 5. I had the biscuits, sausage gravy with fried eggs on top. It's presentation was a 5, beautiful. Unfortunately it was way to salty. I suspect a mistake in the kitchen. So important to taste the sausage gravy. It was a bummer. The biscuits looks so good. I did eat the eggs and a little bit of the biscuits, but couldn't finish it. So I give it a 2. You got to taste the food if your a cook or chef. We definitely would go back. Let's just say, if you're looking for a breakfast spot that's more than just a meal, this is the place. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The atmosphere was buzzing, and we were immediately greeted by Katie, the hostess. She was an absolute ray of sunshine—so welcoming and genuinely happy to see us. She sat us down quickly and made us feel right at home. Calling our reservation by name!

And then there's Lane, our waiter. He was incredible. He made some fantastic recommendations, like the special breakfast nachos (with chorizo and egg), which was easily the best I've ever had. He was attentive without being overbearing, and his timing was impeccable. He made sure our mimosas were always full and was a total pro.
