This was my first time eating here, but will not be my last! I ordered the No âBiggie Breakfastâ and an Iced Coffee which was very good!
I get to choose the way my eggs are cooked, which means they only use real eggs. I also got to choose my meat, for which I chose bacon. I donât know what brand of bacon they use, but please donât ever change! The bacon had a very strong hickory flavor, and was cooked to crispy perfection!
The meal comes with a bagel, so I chose the Asiago cheese bagel with butter, and it did not disappoint! I have only ever had bagels (in a restaurant setting) from Panera Bread, and theirs could not hold a light to B2Bâs!
The meal also includes French toast and potato pancakes. The French toast was good, and I could tell it was made from scratch, but it was a little dry. I was not given any syrup, and did not see any on any counter, so I just ate it with the applesauce I was given for my potato pancakes. I didnât ask anyone if they have syrup, so maybe they do, but they were so busy I didnât want to interrupt them getting other orders together.
Outside of the bagel, the potato pancakes were the star of the show! I have not had good potato pancakes since my mammaw passed away in 2015, and they definitely rivaled hers! I was asked when ordering if I wanted sour cream or applesauce to go with my potato pancakes, which threw me a curve ball, as I have never had them with anything else besides ketchup! I chose applesauce, and it was a delicious new experience for me. They pancakes were fried to a beautiful and crisp golden brown, but with a soft yet firm potato flavor and texture on the inside. I would go back just for these!
Lastly, I ordered an iced coffee and had them add caramel flavoring. I love that they freeze coffee into âcoffee cubzzâ so it doesnât get watery! The caramel flavor wasnât that strong to me, so next time I will ask for an extra shot.
I thought by going at 10:30 on a Wednesday they would not be that busy, but I was wrong. I almost had to stand outside waiting to place my order! As busy as they were, the staff was very polite, with the cashier having a cheerful and bubbly personality, and the young gentleman bringing the food out to me being super warm and friendly. If they donât love their job, I would never know!
If I had any actual complaints/concerns for the restaurant, it would be that the location is just not big enough to handle the customer volume. By the time I was finished the lunch rush had started, there were people everywhere, and the line to order really was out the door! I can only imagine how busy they get on the weekend! I hope they are planning to expand the current location and/or open new locations in other areas of the city! I just happened to be in the area this morning, but live in the south end and would love to see a location closer to home!
I canât wait to come back and try a...
Read moreI'm not sure how I missed it, but there's a new Bagel place in town and it's pretttttty awesome!
Born2Bagel isn't on the way to anywhere I go with any frequency and the only reason I know it existed was by looking at some of my Yelp friends profiles. Still, once I read a few reviews I was, like, "We have to go!"
(Ok, I admit it. I'm a Bagelholic.)
The interior is brightly coloured with white walls and black and yellow signage. There's not a huge seating area (there are only about ten tables) arranged in two- and four-tops. It's counter service, so you order at the register and sit and wait for your food.
On a Sunday we decided to visit for lunch. I had already perused the menu so I basically had an idea what I wanted (a turkey and swiss sandwich on an asiago bagel). I added a side of potato salad (one can only eat so many bags of chips.) Besides, it was Sunday lunch. I felt like being fancy.
Oh My, the options! A rough estimate I think they have at least 10 types of bagels and over a half dozen flavors of cream cheese. Add to that a variety of Boar's Head lunch meats (sliced on site) and some fresh veggies and you know it's going to be good. Drink options are limited to some canned and bottles waters, teas, and soft drinks.
Our food was delivered in less than ten minutes and when they say their bagel sandwiches are piled high, they mean it. It was huge! I had to kind of mush it in order to eat it. And It Was Delicious! There was something different about the potato salad. I don't know what it was, but it was REALLY good.
As we finished Jenn came out and asked how everything was and it was, of course, excellent. I had to comment on the potato salad, and she said they get a lot of compliments on it. I also got a bagel and cream cheese to go, specifically a jalapeño bagel and strawberry cream cheese. I know it sounds a bit odd, but Jenn suggested it and...wouldn't ya know it? She was right. It was amazingly good. I like that their jalapeño bagel has a slightly spicy kick at the end. HIGH-FIVE for that!
The only thing I would change would be to add a drink station. The selection of bottle and cans are good, but sometimes a fountain drink just hits the right spot. NOT a complaint at all and nothing that would ever stop me from coming back.
We will definitely be adding Born2Bagel to our Sunday lunch rotation. I really want to try Jennâs famous...

This afternoon 13 of our residents at Swan Point HOA either ate at the BORN2BAGEL restaurant or carried out a âto goâ order. This was our first time to visit BORN2BAGEL. Weâve eaten bagels before but never as soft and tender as these bagels were! I ordered the 2 Eggs, Ham & Cheese Sandwich on a plain bagel and my husband ordered the 2 Eggs, Bacon & Cheese Sandwich on a plain bagel. The scramble egg portion was so big that it hung out over both edges of the sandwiches. I could only eat 1/2 of my sandwich, so I shared it with my husband when we got home. The lady sitting with us ordered the Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato on a Sesame Bagel. It was really large. Another person whose bagel I could see had an onion bagel with at least 2 inches of thinly sliced turkey on it. So Iâd say that they have very large portions. The shop had a very large crowd this morning due to the University of Louisvilleâs early game, so a lot of people went over there to get carry-outs. When their shop is crowded the line gets long and they have to prop the door open which caused the inside of the store to get warm. We decided to sit on the front porch and chatted with our neighbors. There were lots of choices to eat. There were Bagels of every kind, Muffins, and Bialys. They even have lox bagels. They serve breakfast and lunch. They have coffee but no fountain drinks. They have a lot of bottled drinks, water, fruit drinks and tea. Our cashier today was Victoria and she kept the line moving. There were 4-5 people in the back heating and slicing the meats and cheeses and making the bagels. The owners are Bruce and Jennifer Rosenblatt and they are also going to be opening another location. Go by and visit them. Tell them Swan Pointe sent you! Their hours are: M-F 6:30 AM -2:30 PM S,S 7:00 AM...
