I arrived at Tropical Smoothie on September 15th around 8:30 PM, and even though the posted hours said open until 9:00 PM, the doors were already locked. The team lead refused my walk-in order while the online ordering system was still active. On top of that, staff were rude, and a family member outside even shouted profanity at me. Very unprofessional and misleading — customers deserve service during the posted hours.
Industry Standard: Cleaning and closing tasks are part of the shift and are expected to be done after closing time or while still serving customers up until closing.
Customer Expectation: Posted hours create a promise to customers — if the sign says open until 9:00 PM, customers reasonably expect service until 9:00 PM.
Professional Practice: Locking doors early to make cleaning easier sends the message that convenience for staff comes before customer service, which damages the brand’s reputation.
Franchise/Corporate Rules: Chains like Tropical Smoothie usually have strict policies requiring employees to serve until the stated closing time. Closing early without approval can violate those rules and get a location in trouble...
Read moreThis morning I ordered an Açaí Bowl online. When I arrived to pick up the bowl I noticed that there was little to no Açaí in the bowl. Only fruit and granola in the bowl. When I asked the employees about it they said the bowl is filled to the full line. Even the advertisement for the bowl has more Açaí than what I received. This is so disappointing as I’ve waited a long time for this location to open because it’s close to home. I frequent Tropical smoothie locations daily for the Açaí Bowl and wraps. Please look into this matter and retrain your employees on how to properly prepare the bowl as it’s too expensive not receive the correct proportion. I have attached photos of the advertised açaí bowl, açaí bowl I received this morning from the Douglasville location (2 pics) vs one received from another location. I hope my review is read by the owner and immediate...
Read moreI keep trying to give this location a fair chance. I ordered an Açaí bowl in the store. I explained to the young lady how the last few time there was little to no açaí in my bowl. She said she understood and would make sure that it was up to par this time. I always order my bowl with no bananas extra strawberries because I don’t like to freeze the banana. They almost got it right this time but they forgot the granola and the honey drizzle and for a frequent customer I find that this is unacceptable. The bowls are already on the pricey side and I shouldn’t have to get home and redo or fix my bowl when I’ve expected it to be made right in the store. I’m starting to feel that this location just doesn’t live up to the tropical smoothie Café brand that I’m...
