I feel kind of bad for leaving this review but I think it’s important to leave companies feedback when they make decisions that don’t make any sense. This is one of those situations.
The food here is amazing however, what isn’t amazing is their recent decision to remove things from their menu. What they advertised as a “menu change”, was actually just them removing items from their menu, especially the healthier options that brought me to tuckers 1-2xs per week. I was a regular here, up until I learned today that they removed the hold the gluten skillet. Arguably one of the best items on their menu. I’m highly disappointed. I’m a calorie conscious person and do not typically eat meat, and this dish offered an excellent source of protein without breaking the calorie bank. Sure I could order fruit or a veggie omelette but I can get/make those things at home.
Unfortunately, I will not return to tuckers until they put this back on the menu. I can’t understand what would drive them to make this decision, but I think it’s important to communicate that this was a terrible choice and has lost you a regular customer. Not sure if any one from tuckers will actually read this but I will consider revising/removing my review if you bring the old menu back.
Unfortunately, healthy breakfast take out options are limited these days. Tuckers was one of the few places in Dover that I felt comfortable going to. Thankfully, there’s a place down the street that I will take my business to moving forward but I’m disappointed that my options are now even...
Read moreTuckers offers high quality ingredients and transforms them into delicious food. I haven't been here in quite some time because you're nearly guaranteed an hour plus wait on the weekends. It's worth it, though, for the food.
As far as service goes, it is good but can suffer when busy. Hostesses at the front need to step it up and pay attention to the customers waiting in front of them instead of personally chatting and paying attention to the wait list.
My most recent experience had me wait a little over an hour to be called in for a table for 2. There are 3 hostesses at the desk, and while standing directly across from them waiting, another customer has an issue with them giving away their table. At this point, the rush had subsided, and 2 more separate parties entered and were seated immediately. At this point, after being notified that my table was ready, I've waited 7 min for my table indoors after waiting over an hour outside and seeing 2 walk-ins seated before me. I have to inquire about my table only to find that it's ready. Who knows how long I would have waited if I didn't check in myself.
Even though the food was good, the experience left a sour taste and a loss of appetite for Tuckers...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to stop in for lunch. We were quickly seated and provided with menus. We scanned the menus and chatted for a bit. 20 minutes had gone by, and at first we assumed the delay was due to the general busyness of the restaurant, but as the time passed it became more apparent that there must have been a miscommunication somewhere as no server had been to our table. We got the attention of one of the individuals working, who quickly resolved the issue. A waitress promptly came to our table and genuinely apologized for the delay. A manager came out shortly thereafter and followed up the apology and fast-tracked our order. The food was delicious and came out quickly (also the best cold brew coffee I've had in the region), and the waitress provided great service. In the end, the restaurant insisted on "making it right," despite it feeling like a very trivial misstep to us. Accidents happen. We appreciated the care and attention they provided. All of the employees were very pleasant. We look forward...
