First off, I'd like to say I wish Yelp did 1/2 Stars sometimes. I wanted to give Yoli's 3½ Stars, but we've been here before, I noticed they looked like they may have been short staffed, and we've never had an issue here before, The lady behind the counter has always been super nice to my girls everytime we've been here, offering them a free Horchata while waiting. Therefore, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, rounded up to 4 Stars, and we will come back again.
This is another hidden Downey gem. Food is usually pretty good and service is excellent. However, on this trip food was less than expected. The Cosido De Res was hot and the flavor was good but the chucks of meat were either too fatty or too hard. We didn't get our corn tortillas or limes that I asked for either. Very disappointing. The meat in the Taquitos were a little on the hard side also. Enchilada plate however was good, as well as the Potato & Chicharron Tacos Over all, it was good, and we will come back. Hoping for a better...
Read moreI have been passing by this little piece of heaven for years and finally came in. My only regret is not coming sooner. It's a very cozy restaurant, with traditional decor and Mexican music playing gracefully. You're immediately greeted, you literally feel like you walked into your tias house, very warm and welcoming... the food is amazing, very home made. Their lunch menu has so many choices it's tempting, I had the Chicken and Mole served with rice and beans and a small bowl of caldo with potatoes, that just kicked it off for me. They also serve chips and salsa, three delicious salsas! Seriously the Mole is one of the best I've ever had. Served with three warm corn tortillas, I can go on but some things you have to just try yourself. It's not over, they also bring you small plate of buñuelos with your check. One more thing, their aguas are really frescas, fresh, I had the Piña and it was delish. Definitely coming back with...
Read moreI'm very sad to have to write this review because the food is truly amazing however the lack of business sense overrides their culinary know how. It's currently 8:25 p.m. I just walked out of Yoli's empty-handed.
We were going to be eating dinner here as they close at 10 p.m. I arrived right before the rest of my party only to find out it was take-out only. I thought it was odd since people were still eating and the hours listed state they close at 10 p.m. but I decided to look at a menu and wait for the rest of my party so we could order to go.
Then the cashier told the kitchen to wait as I was going to place an order and they said no, soup only. Unbeknownst to them I speak Spanish so I know exactly what was said. What a blatant display of laziness by the kitchen and condoned by the cashier!
Obviously they don't want to work, no problem they will no longer be...
