Downingtown has become a hub of great restaurants, and Myrtos is at the top of the list! From the sophisticated clean design, fresh linens and flowers, Mytos has taken dining in Chester County to a whole new level. Evan, the owner, provides a phenomenal Greek Mediterranean Menu that is full of diverse and delicious fresh offerings. Tonight, my dining partner and I started off with flaming saganaki and warm seasoned pita. Delicious! He indulged in a medium rare Delmonico Steak which came with a savory mushroom au jus served in a small side candle heated ramekin. Nice touch!, and delicious to boot!!! The side lemon potatoes and asparagus were flavorful with tasty Mediterranean herbs.
Being a lacto-ovo vegetarian, my dining preferences are a bit more specific, and always met with offerings on this menu. Evan even has vegan offerings. This time, I deviated from my favorite mouth watering stuffed Aubergine. Instead, I ordered the vegetarian platter - village salad with a scrumptious Greek dressing, falafel with a side of the most incredible tzatziki I have ever tasted. French fries accompanied this entree. They were seasoned well, but I prefer my fries to be a bit more crispy.
Myrtos is the best kept secret of Delaware Valley dining!!! As much as I don’t want to not be able to get a seat in this very special romantic restaurant, I want Myrtos to keep thriving. Everything from the atmosphere, to the pleasant wait staff (Molly was wonderful!), to the freshest, most delicious food in the area, Myrtos gets 5 STARS.

Read moreGrowing up in Downingtown, I’ve had many meals inside this building but HOLY COW… Myrtos is by far the best food I’ve ever had here! Everything was amazing start to finish! My parents and I started off with the appetizer spread platter of tzatziki, humus, babaghanoush, olives, feta and pita… THE PITA IS TO DIE FOR! We also got the Saganaki which is literally Greek cheese lit on fire table side that is so flavorful we ordered extra to eat as a late night snack😂! My parents ordered the Shrimp Saganaki and Gemista, I ordered the Moussaka. You can tell they make every dish wish such care and attention to detail that they are all perfectly seasoned and so flavorful! We left completely stuffed! I will say when we go back (and believe me, we will be back) I will be ordering the Shrimp Saganaki… it is simply perfection✨ the owner Evan & his kitchen staff have truly perfected a secret family seasoning on the shrimp, rice & broccoli rabe that leaves you stuffed but wanting more! We ended our meal with one scoop of the Nutella gelato and one scoop of the Raspberry Cheesecake gelato and they were the perfect sweet treat! The owner Evan is incredibly gracious and warmly welcomed us in and periodically checked in on us to answer any questions and to make sure we were having the best meal. He and his team have completely transformed the space into a posh dinner spot in downtown Downingtown that has great ambiance AND killer food! Oh and how could I forget it’s a BYOB!!! Seriously there wasn’t one thing we ordered that we didn’t absolutely love… which was shocking but says a ton about...
Read moreThis has to be one of the top restaurants in Chester County and therefore the top Greek restaurant. The service was marvelous, and the food was delicious and authentic Greek. Now for the details. We went on Valentines Day for a prix fixe menu. First was saganaki, cheese coated in honey and set on fire at the table. Exciting and delicious. I had the octopus appetizer which was fried and garnished with onion, hot peppers, and mustard. Outstanding. My wife had the keftedes appetizer. They were HUGE, spiced just right, accompanied by our favorite, tzatziki and pita. Next came the Greek salad. It was not some lame mixture of greens with some feta cheese and an olive thrown in. It was a real Horiatiki (Country) Greek salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, and olives with a nice slice of feta on top. Fantastic, and too way too much to eat it all. Her main course was a steak cooked like she wanted it, tender and juicy. My entree was moussaka. Now I lived in Greece for a few years and have visited many Geek restaurants in the US. This moussaka was the best I have ever had on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. A creamy bechamel sauce on top of perfectly seasoned ground meat, eggplant, and potatoes that just melts in your mouth. We were so full from the appetizers and the main course that we had the dessert boxed up to take home, along with the extra keftedes, salad, and steak. We are getting two meals out of this. I have only one caveat. Mytros has become very popular very quickly, so if you plan to go, make a...
