Highly recommend Belaro Jewelers. I visited Belaro after going to a few bigger and more widely marketed 'discounted, but upscale' jewelers. My goal was to preserved the integrity of my engagement & wedding ring, while updating and resizing them. The other jewelers were nice, but somehow we always ended up on the discussion of replacing a diamond after making observations that my diamond isn't the top quality tier. I would leave feeling like my engagement ring wasn't worth keeping. At Belaro, Laura & Becky brainstormed ways that little adjustments could help me accomplish my goal - to love my ring enough to wear it everyday and to make it fit in a way that I wanted to keep it on everyday. They did it for me. They made modest changes, and they were really sensitive about the fact that I wanted to keep what my husband had carefully chosend for me many years ago. I felt like I was asking the impossible....and was sure that a jeweler would rather spend their time with the person who wanted to buy the most expensive option. So, this was refreshing....that they were engaged in helping to define what I wanted and make it happen. I am very grateful for this small business in Downingown. I made a great choice in visitng and working with...
Read moreI purchased a watch from an online retailer, and it was a little too snug. It did not come with instructions regarding how to add links, and after googling and watching YouTube videos on how to add links to my ceramic watch (use safety pins, thumbtacks, etc.), I came to the conclusion that I could not do it myself for fear that I would end up damaging an expensive watch I just purchased. I called Belaro to ask if anyone would adjust my watch for me, and the woman I spoke with was so pleasant. I stopped in and showed her the watch, and in as little as five minutes, the woman I spoke with on the phone added a link and it fit perfectly. While I was quite disappointed that the company I ordered the watch from provided no instructions or tools to adjust the watch myself, I was pleasantly surprised that this small business jeweler was more than happy to assist me me, especially because the watch didn’t come from their shop. The woman who assisted me made sure that I was happy with the length and it was very inexpensive. We had a very pleasant conversation and I absolutely plan on returning if and when I ever decide to invest in fine jewelry. Thanks so much...
Read moreI have two rings, one belonged to my husbands grandmother and one to my own grandmother. I took them both in in October to be cleaned and serviced, with one of them sized. While sizing she reported that about 6 of the prongs were loose, etc. Of course I paid the extra to have everything taken care of. Well, fast forward to this summer, it's been 10 months and I am visiting my home town and see that there is a diamond missing. The local jeweler in California is an old family friend of ours, and I took it in to be repaired. He informed me that there were about 6 prongs that were very loose and worn and that I shouldn't wear the ring until they were repaired! I paid several hundred dollars for both of my antique rings to be taken care of and I feel like they completely did not do the job I paid them for. I however have no proof, and my receipts are long gone so I am left with only a review. Just be careful and make sure to look closely...
