In May I had the pleasure of dining at Bocellis. It was the perfect choice to celebrate my niece's college graduation. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
The menu was filled with an array of classic Italian dishes, each prepared with love and attention to detail. We started our meal with a strawberry gorgonzola salad, featuring ripe strawberries, balsamic reduction, creamy gorgonzola dressing, and fragrant basil. The flavors were vibrant and combined beautifully. We were a large party and most of us opted for the specials. Everything was delicious.
The homemade pasta with scallops and vodka sauce was perfectly cooked, and each bite was a delightful reminder of the authentic Italian dishes I've had in the past.
My niece decided to try their homemade crab and lobster ravioli, and she was equally impressed. The pillowy soft ravioli were served in a savory vodka sauce. It was a dish that showcased the chef's skill in creating delicate yet satisfying flavors.
To complete our meal, we indulged in decadent tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. The velvety layers of mascarpone cheese, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a sprinkle of cocoa made for a heavenly ending to our dining experience.
The service throughout the event was attentive and friendly. The staff took the time to explain the menu and ensured that we had everything we needed to make the celebration memorable.
Overall, our experience at this restaurant exceeded our expectations. The homemade Italian food was prepared with genuine passion, showcasing the culinary heritage of Italy. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving authentic Italian flavors, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. In fact we live five hours away and planning our next trip just to eat here again. -...

Complementary mini bruschetta: my partner described it as very flavorful, which was not my impression at all. Tomatoes were typical supermarket quality. Bread was not fresh, but it was toasted, so not bad. Other tables were given a basket of rolls; we were not.
Complementary appetizer: Very nice rolled crepes with ricotta.
Fig and pancetta appetizer: Excellent; my favorite dish there. Creative and very tasty. Served over arugula.
Chicken cacciatore: quite good. Served over spaghetti (which was a bit overcooked). The sauce was flavorful, the peppers fresh and flavorful, and the mushrooms were delightful – sliced very thin.
Spaghetti carbonara: below average; did not finish. It was creamy and oily without being flavorful. I think it suffered from too little cheese and too much cream, and the wrong cheese – parmesan rather than pecorino Romano. Not near enough black pepper. Random fresh basil leaves were cooked into the sauce for some reason. Pancetta was not crispy. It may have just been added to the sauce rather than sauteed separately first. Pasta was slightly overcooked.
Other tables were offered complimentary limoncello; we were not. Maybe there is some formula for who is offered this and who is not. We received the crepe appetizer, so no complaint. Rich chocolate cake for dessert. Good typical restaurant quality, not likely made on-site.
Service was fine. This is a small, narrow restaurant, so perhaps not good for large parties. They take reservations only by phone, and you will probably not be able to reach them before 3 PM. The place was nearly full when we visited. You may not be able to find on-street parking close to the restaurant. Pay with cash and get 6%...
Read moreI picked this place out of several choices in Doylestown . Made reservations for a Party of 6 . We were seated right away . Very polite service , Complementary food was Very good . The fried calamari was OK. They gave us a basket of rolls but no butter.. My husband Started off with a bowl of Pasta Fagioli it was nothing but a few beans and pasta in a tomato soup . (Very disappointing .) he ordered The ravioli Al Granchioe gambari ( fancy name but nothing fancy about it ) There was no crab or shrimp insight at all it was just a mushy ravioli.. .... (very disappointing.) I started off with a Caesar salad that was just so so hardly any dressing on top no croutons and the salad itself didn't seem very fresh..... I ordered the Pollo Di Casa It was very good, but It was supposed to be topped with fresh crabmeat but once again I did not see any crab at all. My daughter ordered the lasagna dish. She indicated that there was no regatta cheese and it just had meet in the middle ,but she did say it tasted good. The rest of the party , 2 had lobster ravioli. And said that it was good and the last person had fillet of soul also said his was good . We all did order desserts my husband and I had the cannoli and the rest of the parties had had different choices of cake we all have to say it was very good . For the price we had paid for the dishes we have received was very disappointing. I'm sorry to say this will not be a choice of place for me or my husband to go to ever...
