I love Nina's waffles there's nothing better than a hot waffle with fresh ice cream on a night out in doylestown my home town. Tonight i was greeted with the WORST ATTITUDE AND SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED in any restaurant/bar/small town dessert spot. It was 9pm on a Tuesday night and i asked for a fresh waffle...made hot and the young girls working gave me a lot of attitude when i asked to please make a fresh waffle. They said they just made the waffles 5 minutes ago and i insisted on a fresh, hot waffle since i had came from colorado to enjoy a fresh waffle and ice cream. The girls then proceeded to roll their eyes text each other complaining about my friends and i looking at each other, taking selfies and snapchats of themselves and us and talking with a friend who wasn't working in the restaurant. I said i would appreciate a little less attitude and the girl wearing a penn state rugby shirt, who didn't participate in the snarky attitudes apologized for their behavior. When i got my waffle i asked if that was too much to ask for...(.to do their job and make a waffle) the girl at the counter informed me that it was the end of the night so they thought it would be ok to make extra waffles ahead of time. I said it's the end of the night and you don't close for another 45 minutes? She said yeah but do you see anyone in here? I replied..No..so why are they making waffles if there's no customers? We left and they cursed at us as we were leaving to get the f out then went back to hanging out with their boyfriends . I usually go out to ninas waffles multiple times with friends and family during my vacations home but i will definitely not be returning while those horrible girls are...
Read moreFriday night at Nina’s Waffles. So disappointing... We had eaten here 4 years ago and it was so special. However, our experience on Friday evening was sad. First and foremost, the store/restaurant was extremely dirty. Sticky floors, sticky tables, thick dust on the ceiling fans. The teenage staff was more concerned with talking to friends and fixing their hair then focusing on the service and food. The Liège-style waffles were bland and doughy with an almost under cooked taste about them. I’ve had these waffles in NYC many times (Wafels & Dinges) and they were far superior. Perhaps it because the dough appears to be frozen and randomly thrown in the iron to cook and then the waffles are just thrown in a pile. My cold waffle might have sat a long while??? The ice cream tasted “icy”. I ordered butter pecan and it had maybe 5 pecans in it. The entire experience was disappointing and felt like a major waste of money. I feel like Nina’s needs to reevaluate their brand, clean their store, upgrade their staff and rejuvenate...
Read moreIt’s honestly a grave injustice that these waffles share a name with waffles one finds in the frozen food isle. Hands down I’ve never had a better waffle in my life. It was sweet and crunchy and fluffy and chewy.
I got a scoop of ice cream on my waffle and while the ice cream was also amazing I didn’t even finish it because I was so focused on my waffle.
I’m actually glad I don’t live closer to this place because I’d need to get a waffle at least once a week.
I tried the one with lemon curd and fresh strawberries on top (with a scoop of vanilla) but next time I’ll go for the cinnamon waffle straight up because I just need more waffles in my life.
Ps. If anyone finds a candle that smells like it does walking into this store - by all...
