Lilly's Gourmet — Restaurant in Doylestown

I would give this place negative stars based off of the service alone. But I cancelled my order before I even got my drink.

The waitress was rude and abrasive. She didn’t even greet my party.

When she eventually came to the table (30 minutes later). She approached us flippantly like we were wasting her time. She took out order and we proceeded to wait.

Before we got our drinks, other tables around us kept getting their food and second rounds. Eventually we told ourselves that we would leave if the next time she came out and didn’t have our drinks.

She then proceeded to come out (we were sitting outside) and ask us what beers we had ordered again. Not once apologizing for forgetting. We cancelled out orders and she replied with an okay that implied she was relieved that we were leaving.

I would give this place another chance but it would take...

This is where we take EVERYONE for lunch when we host people in Doylestown. Lily is a very sweet woman with impeccable taste in EVERYTHING and she believes in high quality goods which is evident when you’re in her place.

Sandwiches are all named after famous cartoons which is lots of fun and starts conversations, and she offers all kinds of extras and goodies like homemade branch pencils, Boylan’s soda pop in botttles (the best).

Not sure if the food is all organic or local but seems like it’s of that mindset. That would be the only reason to rate a 4 vs a 5.

First time dining here and I really enjoyed it. Cozy, eclectic atmosphere with fun menu names. Staff was kind, food was prepared quick, and it was very, very fresh. I ordered the "Porky Pig" which was essentially a BLT on pita with herbed Mayo -- delicious. Lettuce was clean, fresh, same with tomatoes. The bacon didn't taste petrified and the portion was large. If I wasn't only in the area for a day, I could've taken half my sandwich home. It was wonderful. My only desire is for more tables. All in all, 100% recommend. I'll be coming by again...
