I came in at 7:35 pm tonight and waited until 8:00 for someone to come to the front of the restaurant to ask if I had an order to pick up. This is the first impression and the only time I’ve been here and the reason for the two stars. They clearly knew that I was standing there as there were two female and two males walking about serving others in the restaurant towards the back. No one was up near the front except the sushi chef making sushi dishes. Finally a family of four came in and 4 min later another person came in. So we were all waiting for a while. The woman who came up seemed persnickety when addressing me - she asked if I had a reservation (there was nothing on the google maps location info on the place that requires making a reservation otherwise I would have. The time line showed not busy and a lower than average bar reflecting the volume of people there and potentially the wait. - I came in as a single customer. Since I didn’t have a reservation she said the earliest table I could be seated at would be 9pm. The other folks that came in also did not have reservations (I had asked to see if we might have enough for a table to be set in the hibachi grill area) and all together we would have had enough for a table around the grill. (It would have been 6 of us). The family had young children also who should have really liked the table show at the grill. Apparently, they could only handle one table (which was already in the middle of their meal) and no other tables were being used. And there were no other people waiting for a grill table seat. There were a handful of normal restaurant tables and booths in use by patrons. I was disappointed - mostly for the little guys whose parents I’m sure wanted to get the full complement of the cooking show.

As for food I give the third star even though the miso was tepid. Overall the filet and salmon combo came out quickly, as did the appetizers (miso and salad.) The server was attentive and I felt they (he) did do their (his) best with service once I was seated. The filet was tender and the salmon somewhat thin as a filet but good.

Overall, I took away one star as the staff did not work together to address the people who walked in and were waiting to be addressed; as well as the fact that we were unable to get a grill table - from my perspective, as customers - there was no reason not to showcase the talents of the staff. I might understand that the staff was following some inflexible rules regarding the table assignment and on a weekday (middle of the week) they may not fire up more than whatever they have reservations for. One contrary argument to this is that every other similar restaurant has always strived to make this happen for their walk-in customers even with a...

Came here with a friend of mine and his son when I was in town for work. We're both bigger guys, can eat a lot of food, and I like to order a lot of variety. We ordered a party boat for 4 and still some rolls, appetizers, and nigiri. We also planned to take some extra food home for his wife. The server couldn't seem to get the accuracy of the nigiri sushi orders that I put in. I know they are usually 2 pieces per order at basically every sushi restaurant, so I make a point to check that on the menu and (whichever). I ordered 2 orders of the salmon roe and 2 orders of the unagi.

All of the other food ordered was accurate. The food quality was fantastic. I asked about the nigiri I ordered, and she said it was coming. Then, when it did come, I only got one order of salmon roe. I politely let her know that I ordered 2 salmon roe and then 2 unagi. Up until now, I understood that she made a small mistake - we ordered a LOT of food. What I didn't appreciate was that I perceived a little bit of attitude from her when I was nothing but nice. Even then, I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe she wasn't trying to be rude. I still planned to tip very generously. Then she brought the check and decided to add on 20% gratuity onto our bill - for a party of 3! I understand a restaurant adding gratuity to a party of 5, 6, or more. But I didn't fuss about it. Me and my friend are very generous tippers, and I wanted to leave a note on the check that said, "Enjoy the 20%, you probably would've gotten a bigger tip without adding it in." However, I thought that would be too obnoxious. So, instead, here's my review. We visited December 18th. Hopefully, the server will see this and maybe correct her behavior. I say this because you cost yourself money, I generally tip at least 25 - 35% and this time would've been no different. Adding gratuity to a party of 3 is not okay unless they're extremely rude to you. We weren't being rude.

Also, due to that disrespectful experience here, that was my first and probably last time at this restaurant. There's PLENTY of other sushi...

I can’t make this up how bad the service and chef was. So many mistakes during my dinner. First we reserved for 6:30pm for hibachi we arrived there around 6:10pm as soon as we checked in they rushed us to a table that already started eating and the waitress said about time you guys showed up. We already looked at there menu and prices on there website and was shocked to see how much of a price difference it was. What we ordered showed $54 for hibachi inside the restaurant price but we was told it would be $74 way more then what we were expecting. We ordered and when the chef came out to confirm our order it was wrong. He seemed upset and confused we told him many times this is not what we ordered and he repeated that it’s on the receipt and that’s what indeed what we ordered. After going back and forth with him he called over the waitress and she took our order again. Both times I spoke what we wanted and pointed to it on the menu. The chef went back to the kitchen came back with the same exact order that he had the first time. I thought it was a bad joke but no he was serious. Both the chef and waitress are tell us it’s correct. Just to let you know what the issue was they were saying we ordered salmon when we ordered chicken. I don’t know how you get those two confused. The other guest at our table started to get upset with the mistakes too. Two more times he went back to the kitchen before he finally got our chicken. He seemed very unfocused and made many mistakes during cooking (dropped food many times, forgot to add ingredients and even forgot one customers steak at the end). Two of the guest at our table never got there rice and asked for it twice but the chef just looked confused and forgot about there rice. So after all cooking was done they finally received there rice. I highly recommend not going. Between bad service, bad chef and crazy high...

Much left to be desired! Arriving later than expected to Orlando this spot came recommended by concierge🙄. We were a party of 9 and were excited to visit. Because of the recommendation we didn’t even check the reviews. It was close…no problems. We had peach passion drink front the bar. It was actually really on point. The presentation of the lobster roll was amazing. It was okay at best. My husband says the urchin sushimi was good. I was excited about the hi-5 roll. It was bland. I didn’t even get a picture. We were looking for sushi. Opted for hibachi tables as the menu was larger than the sushi. No big deal as we could order both. Miso soup was super bland. Salad was okay. Then got to the main course. Hibachi comes with noodles and fried rice, vegetables and the protein of choice. The eggs had cooked to long on the grill. The rice was crunchy. The noodles were pretty much spaghetti noodles doused in butter and soy sauce. It’s bad when our kids say “we want the regular hibachi place.” Pretty much everything lacked flavor. They literally threw several dollops of butter then doused everything in soy sauce to cook. I bit one of the sautéed mushrooms and it was literally holding all the melted better so that’s all you could taste. The entire plate…butter and salt. My steak, vegetables, shrimp, my friends chicken…so disappointing. The yum yum sauce you could tell was made in house…very mayonaisy. I did speak up as I couldn’t eat that. They were kind enough to take my main course off. My friends did not speak up and ended up paying for two large meals that they didn’t eat. I hate being wasteful but it was like eating out the tub of butter. Go at your own risk. The rest of my trip I will be sure to check reviews.

We went there for our daughter 13th birthday on our Orlando trip, location is good super near our hotel. Nice restaurant with lots of seats, sushi bar and Hibachi area. We came early around 5pm so get seated very quickly, but the serve (no host yet maybe too early?) didn't ask if we want to do Hibachi, so he seated us at sushi area, even we ordered hibachi foods but didn't have experience with Hibachi chef that we wanted for our daughter's birthday! Foods in general is good but not great. We ordered "Lovers" plate ($68) for 2, comes with lobster tail, steak "filet mignon " , shrimps and scallops with fresh veggies like zucchini, broccoli, carrots, dinner for 2 comes with miso soup, salad, plate of fried rice and noodle. Every is ok, also lots of foods, but def steak is not "filet mignon " just regular steak (that same with kid steak plate), also they cut steak in cube it's not the whole piece, and it's chewy so you know it's not "filet mignon " Sashimi salad was not that good as sashimi is not fresh and comes with few pcs of sashimi and imitation crab Spicy tuna roll is good my daughter really like it Edamame and shrimp tempura are good. Edamame plate is bigger than other Japanese restaurants. They added 18% gratitude in to the bill automatically without telling you We told the serve it's birthday dinner but nothing special In general this Restaurant got good catch because location, big menu but could be better in service and food quality We wont be back!

We stopped by Oishi for the first and I’ll definitely be back. The atmosphere was nice, the employees were friendly and helpful. I was torn between a few items on the menu and the waitress helped me choose between them. She recommended the yakinikuju, which is flavorful sirloin strips sautéed with onions over white rice and pickled ginger. The dish can with ginger salad and miso soup which could’ve been standout menu items by themselves. I also ordered the shrimp tempura roll and it as tasty as it was beautiful. My nephew ordered the unagi avocado roll and the spider roll. When I asked him to describe them so I’d know what to put in the review he said “they’re good” 🤣. He also ordered the seaweed salad and miso soup as his sushi rolls did not come with the extra sides. Altogether we spent around $70 between the both of us and walked away with a lot of food. I had to get a box, and I can’t wait to finish mine later.I’m looking forward to stopping by this place again. They knocked it out of the park. EDIT: We went back the next day and tried the Hibachi shrimp which came with fried veggies, friend rice, and vegetable noodles. It also came with miso soup and ginger salad. My nephew got the kalamari and katsudon which also came with miso soup and the ginger salad. He also told me that the miso soup was “the best miso soup he had ever had”. Coming from a man of few words, I think that says a lot.
