This McDonalds in Dubuque and by far the worst McDonalds I've ever had the misfortune of going to. Getting the right order via Drive-thru is always a gamble. No other fast food joint has had a worse record than this particular McDonalds. The one on JFK has always been solid, but this one has been a mess. But for the first time in years I decided to check out the place inside. What a mistake.
I was literally the only person inside during mid-day. The place was absolutely filthy. Gummed up nozzles on the soda dispensers, and the ketchup/napkin table was a disaster zone. I've never seen anything like it. An employee getting a drink commented how "people liked to make it messy" as if that was a comfort. Out of curiosity I tried the ketchup dispenser and out came a frothy orange substance which I promptly threw away.
Most of the tables were not cleaned at all, found one that was the least offensive. My burger was fine but the fries were cold, practically lower than room temperature.
Edit: Nearly a year later I want to update my review. Whatever the manager has done has worked. I bought a double quarter pounder a few days ago and it looked the photo on the menu. Might have been one of the best double quarter pounders I've ever had at McDonalds. Been here a few times between my review and now and its night and day difference. I would recommend this...
Read moreNot happy with our visit! When we walked in not one person greeted us, no one was smiling or welcoming. We had a question about an online coupon we had and no one including management could answer the question. They brushed it off with " no one ever tells us about these". The coupon was for 1 free medium McCafe drink with any purchase. We placed our order. My husband asked about scanning the coupon, no one answered him so he scanned it himself (fine). When the receipt came we were charged for the medium frappe that I ordered but not for the chocolate shake my husband ordered. I asked if shakes were considered McCafe drinks, they said "no". I questioned our bill and they reimbursed the difference (the only positive). Walked over to get ketchup, straws and napkins. The floor was so sticky, the whole area around the condiment counter was filthy. They had a cone out to tell us to beware of the wet floor, oops failed to mop it. Hope the cone isn't permanently stuck to the floor. Oh yes, the napkin holders were empty, as were the ketchup dispensers. Had to work 2 pumps to get one little cup of ketchup. Did I mention we were the only customers in the building, and the whole time we were there no one did anything to correct the issues. Makes me wonder how clean the grill and friers are? Probably not going back to this location...
Read moreI just spent 15 minutes in the drive through, watching everybody do nothing. I ordered a large chocolate shamrock shake with no cherry and a medium shamrock mocha. No one said anything on the intercom the whole time and I pulled through to the payment window. The cashier (Austin) still hadn't said anything at all, I gave him the money and he took it and put it in the drawer and walked away. He didn't say anything, no thank you or have a nice evening or the sorts, he didn't give is a receipt (which we did actually want).
So we pull up to the next window and waited for 15. Minutes. At about 10 minutes, they handed me my coffee and asked if we had gotten the shake yet. I informed him that no, we had not. Nor had we gotten a reciept. 5 minutes later, he brought a regular ole shamrock shake out. No biggy, so I just told him we wanted a chocolate one. He pointed at the receipt and said "thats not what you ordered." And just stared at me.
I am so not pleased, it could have been avoided. There was no reason to be so mean. I'm willing to look over it, but there was not even a redeeming moment about being at that...
