Physical store is great, but curbside is awful. Someone there has a fetish for smashing things. Every time my breads are smashed under something heavy. Usually a canned good or heavy fruit. This week it was can peas smashing by buns, the week before it was a half gallon of milk on top of the bread.
Also holy cow is it infuriating to try and get a weeks worth of groceries only to see 5-8 items were out of stock after they fill the order. Don’t have them available to order if there’s zero chance to get them.
They don’t even make logical substitutions. One week they were out of gallons of milk for curbside, dragged my three young children inside (which is a pain and why I do curbside) to see what was available so we’d have something for the week and low and behold they had half gallons. Why would you not make the substitution?
Aldi was worth it for the low cost but not when I have to make additional trips back into town to replace damaged and missing goods. Target, Sams, and Hy-vee have what they...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by our Aldis. When I was a kid I remember it being a bit run down with mediocre food. Now, it's a totally different store! They even have organic items! I have had good luck with all I have bought - especially produce. I bought the best, juiciest grapefruit I've ever had at Aldi's. There is a section of houseware type products that is a new edition since my last visit. I also found a whole cult following for this store on Facebook. People from all over who really enjoy Aldi's wide selection of delicious food share recipes. The best part was my bill - it was significantly cheaper than Hyvee. One thing to remember is to get a cart you must have a quarter that you get back when you are done. And you must have or buy your own grocery bags or boxes. Don't worry about this because they offer cloth and durable plastic bags you can buy on the cheap. I've enclosed a photo of mine- I only paid $1 I think. It was a great experience and it is my new grocery...
Read moreI hate to let the grocery buying cat out of the bag because it means more traffic when shopping, but this place deserves the praise! Best store bought produce in town (unless you can get it straight from the farm, or spend the $ at natural grocers... you won't find anything as fresh and as inexpensive other places) Great prices all around especially for organic produce, meat and products! If you are unfamiliar with how Aldi's stocks their shelves, there can be a learning curve as they do not always carry well known name brands (their organic brand simply natural is delicious and super affordable) and they do not have every type of item you are looking for (so go in knowing you might not find everything!) I always shop here first and supplement what I'm not able to find at a larger grocery chain. Would love if they would open a second location or expand this location again, as it has definitely gotten busier over the...
