A hidden gem - I only found out about place because of my dad. It's listed in Korean business directories but it wasn't on yelp or google! I couldn’t believe it and felt I should at least put in on people’s radars.
It's a no-frills type restaurant with seriously good hwae-dup-bap (chirashi-don) and Mae-Eun tang (spicy fish stew). The hwae-dup-bap came with really good miso soup. The mae-eun tang was flavorful and the fish tasted fresh. They also served 5 side dishes. This might be an odd thing to notice but the rice was cooked perfectly! It was sooo good!! FYI water is self-serve from the water cooler!
Best of all, the price was so cheap! $7.99 for Chirashi and $12.99 for spicy fish stew. I wish I had taken pictures of my food but we were all too busy eating...
They have about 5 tables so it's small but it wasn’t that crowded when I was there for lunch.
There are plenty of parking spaces as well.
I will...
Read moreThe sign on the storefront is "KPL Fish Market Restaurant 어촌횟집". The place is a hole in the wall gem for authentic Korean seafood. I've talked to the owner who told me he gets two shipments per week straight from Korea. I've been here twice and both time, I thought the food was fresh and delicious. Their seafood bowl is refreshing and great. I've had their flounder sashimi, abalone, sea pineapple, and squid. All tasted very fresh and good!! I finished off that dinner with their fish stew. Also clean and neat tasting. Perfect amount of spice. You can only find things like this in LA and maybe Manhattan. I am so happy I found this place!
Know that inside, the decor is old. Like I said, hole in the wall. The owner and his wife are very friendly and helped answer a lot of questions. I highly...
Read moreThe name says it’s all. Fish Market Resturant.
This mom and pop shop earned my business. We decided to come after eyeing it for a while. Inside, there’s an open kitchen with many fish tanks. The resturant is kind of small. Maybe 4 tables max. But a party up to 6 can dine comfortably.
The menu was in Korean but the owner was able to help us order. We ordered the sashimi platter for 2 people. This platter comes with various side dishes such as edamame, seaweed salad, fish pancake, fried napa pancakes, and mushroom.
The sashimi platter was really fresh and tasted sooo good. My only complaint with the platter is the sashimi selection. While I don’t mind eating anything that was served, the resturant should offer more...
