I am beyond disappointed with my recent experience at A-Hyang. We ordered food and specifically asked for the sauce on the side. Apparently, we may not have phrased it perfectly, which led to some misunderstanding. When the food arrived with sauce on it, we politely asked for clarification on where WE went wrong so we could avoid the same mistake in the future.
Instead of calmly addressing the situation, the server—who turned out to be the oldest brother/son—started arguing with us, blaming us for the mix-up. He even went around to his staff, loudly justifying why they shouldn’t remake the dish (which we never asked them to do and did not expect a new dish. All we wanted was clarification).
What made the situation even worse was that we mentioned we had been here a few times before without any issues, only for him to claim he’d never seen us before. He went as far as loudly asking his brother and the rest of the staff in the restaurant if anyone recognized us, further creating an unwelcoming atmosphere.
It was shocking, unprofessional, and honestly humiliating. Instead of owning up to the poor handling of the situation, he acted immaturely, escalated the issue, and never once apologized. His mother tried to save his behavior as she came out to apologize on his behalf and acknowledged how out of line he was.
This experience was absolutely unacceptable. For someone working in customer service, the server’s behavior was immature and completely disrespectful. A-Hyang needs to reevaluate how they treat their customers. We won’t...
Read moreI used to really like this place but sadly the service and quality has been declining over the years. Ate here on Saturday with my wife and we had a horrible experience. First, the nengmyun noodles were way over cooked and close to mushy. Their nengmyun used to be good but the noodles are now always so overcooked and mushy. Second, either the A/C was broken or they just didn't turn it on, it was unbearably hot in the restaurant. And lastly, the servers were just straight up terrible. I spilled some soup (my fault) while trying to make room on the table for the server to put down our donkatsu. We started wiping the table down with our napkins and the server didn't even try to help or provide paper towels. She just glares and mutters something under her breath and leaves. And after we were done eating, we asked for a to-go box to a different server. She frowns at us and openly shows that our request annoys her. She did get us the to-go box but with plenty of attitude. Please fix your server's attitudes or just replace them with people who...
Read moreI normally don't post a review based on service but on food itself, but I cannot let this one go. I've been to this restaurant a few times; food is average at best.
If you have a big party, don't go. The server gave our large party an attitude for being there. If the restaurant can't handle our party, please let us know up front. He even told one of the kids in our party to leave one of the tables and not bring the chair to the main table. Sadly our entire party left the restaurant and ended with shouting match on our way out.
Safe to say we will not be going back. We ended up at the restaurant in the same shopping center that embraced our entire party with good food and service.
Read some of the other reviews. We are not the only ones expressing the unprofessionalism of this restaurant.
I cannot recommend going to...
