Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Duluth

8/16/2015. We had a party of 8 adults and 2 kids. We ordered our drinks but they didn't give the kids their drinks. We ordered our food. I specifically said I had to leave in about 50 mins so I asked for my meal to go. I was under the impression I'd have time to eat my salad and appetizer and leave with my meal. 30 mins later food was still not out. The appetizers and salads weren't out. The kids still didn't have drinks. There was two 4 tops that came in after us. Both were served appetizers and their meals. The one table already had their bill. My sister had brought this up to the waiter. She said it wasn't her fault because it wasn't her section. Section or no section you are working that section. Own it. And do a good job. By the time our salads and appetizers came out I had to leave. I packed up my salad and left. I worked for Applebee's kitchen before. I know a little about ticket times. If I had made a meal go on ticket time for 50 mins I'd be fired. This means the waitress wasn't putting in her orders in a decent amount of time and didn't care of my request because I had to leave early. Now after I left they screwed up my mom and stepdads meal. The waiter (different from the first) had the nerve to ask my mom if she still wanted them to make her meal. What?!?! And then only took $10 of the bill?!?! What?!?! A whole 2 for $20 should have been free. I didn't get mine and you messed up my mom's. (Yes I got mine the next morning after work but you make the honey Mac and then eat it the next day. Not that good reheated.) Here is the thing Applebee's. My mom just got married the day before. My brother and sister were up from Florida we only see them once every few years. And my sister and her family were from Canada we see them even less (like once every ten years.) This was our goodbye dinner and it was horrible. I didn't even get to eat with them! 50 mins for appetizers and salads??? And the kids finally got their drinks when I was walking out? When the next table has their bill? I was having a good day and then I went to the Applebee's in Duluth. I Will never go there again. This was the worse applebees I have ever been too. The waitress was rude from the beginning. I should have walked out right then. I ordered my food and a drink without ice. The waitress lectured me about not wanting ice. I should not have to explain why I did not want ice. Fyi tho I don't like to have my drinks watered down. Ice is not a necessity. I brushed that off and was just going to eat and get out of there then she comes back and asked me if I was ready to order yet. Seriously that is the first thing I did was order food. Again I should of left except now I was drinking my poorly made drink. It took forever to get my order. I asked for another drink while I waited. This time she fills my drink with ICE after I told her I did not want ice. When I was ready to leave and she was no where in sight. I waited awhile then tried to get my ticket from another waitress and they cannot check me out they have to go find my waitress. The portions on my order were super small too. Also the place was not very busy and now I know why. Do not go here unless you want to feel robbed and get poorly...

Although I like the food at Applebee's, my experience at this location last night was terrible. There was a short wait for tables, we were told 15-20 minutes. So we got drinks at the bar, sitting immediately behind the host stand. We finally asked about or table after roughly 35 minutes to learn they 'forgot' about us. We were taken to a booth to see 3 other open booths. We quickly ordered our food and I ordered another drink. Our food came but no drink. My meal was overcooked while my husband's was cold. Too cold to eat. He asked the exporter who brought the food for another beverage. I still hadn't gotten the drink I ordered when we were seated so I also asked the exporter for my beverage. 50 mins after we were seated, and 45 mins after we initially ordered, our waitress finally reappeared. We explained we were still waiting for drinks & my husband's food was cold. Her response was to ask us if we wanted our check. They brought the check then the drinks. You could tell mine had been sitting for a while based on the fact the ice was nearly completely melted. My husband did not eat his meal and left it on the table. We picked him up a sandwich from Arbys on the way home....
