If you're booking a stay in Duluth's Canal Park area, or you know you will be there, I suggest making a reservation for Bellisio's because it was amazing. We went there on a Friday night for dinner and found out that the wait was going to be over 90 minutes and was suggested that reservations were the way to get in, so we made reservations for lunch the following day. Lunch time probably didn't need reservations however they did say they were booked out for Saturday night as well, so this is something to do in preparation so you know you can get in if you want to have dinner. The wait staff was well trained and what you could expect from a higher class restaurant, the building is beautiful and it's right in the heart of Canal Park. While not the place where I would think Italian food of this caliber would exist, Bellisio's was a knock out. The noodles were done to perfection and were a high-quality, the sauce was old-world style and the meatball on my spaghetti was a 10 out of 10 for sure. Lemon aid was not fountain and something I enjoy at as many places as I can get it and theirs was done very well. Prices were good for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. I'll be coming back to try the rest of the menu, and each time I book a room in Duluth, this will be the phone call right after my hotel reservation.

This should really be a 2.5. My wife's halibut was quite good, but my chicken marsala was sub-par. The flavors of the dish were actually good, but if I had to guess the chicken was from the Sam's Club up the road; tasteless and with a horrible texture. I would have preferred chicken mcnuggets. One saving grace was the Tiramisu which was excellent, and I would also recommend the Italian Breeze, a drink with rum and Amaretto; a surprisingly good combination. Beyond the food, however, was the service. The staff were friendly and polite enough, but our request for a booth was denied. We were told there were too many reservations that night. Nevertheless, the section we were seated in had no less than seven empty tables for the first 45 minutes we were there. On a humorous note, the one other table in our section that was occupied had a young woman and her date who looked and actually was dressed like Edward Scissorhands. I was trying to remember, but it seemed to me nothing much had changed with the decor from our last visit, probably 12 years prior. Maybe it had, but it will definitely be another long interval before we cross their threshold again.

Some friends and I were visiting from out of town and called this restaurant to see if they had openings around 8 PM. They were really kind and had openings for a party of seven last minute.✨ There was nothing wrong with the service that we received. Our waiter was very kind and personable. She helped educate us on the wide selection and helped us select a wine. I am disappointed with the food. Their prices were very high, despite not having quality food. The shrimp was very gummy. There was barely any lobster in our pasta dish. The mashed potatoes was very small. The steak was cooked perfect, but the seasoning was very bland. I was very disappointed due to spending $140 not including tip. The dishes were surprisingly small for the amount of money I paid. I had to stop at another restaurant to pick up food because I was still hungry. Overall, they have a great wine selection, but for the food they should improve on the quality of their dishes. I will not be coming back to this restaurant.

I always try to visit this quaint Italian restaurant when I come to Duluth. Located on Lake Ave near the Lift Bridge. On this visit I had two of my best friends with me, and hoping they would love this place as much as I do. I've never been disappointed with a meal here. They have a great wine selection, and offer wine flights, which is always fun to sample different selections. I ordered their special which was a 3 course meal wih Caesar Salad, ( and yes, you can have the dressing on the side), 3 entrees to choose from and Tiramisu for dessert. I ordered the Chicken Milanese with capers and real mash potatoes. I surprised myself and ate the whole thing. Our waitress told us this was her first night going solo. She was more like a pro. Very attentive and personable to our table. Covid protocol still in place. Reservations are highly recommended. My friends enjoyed their meal and now have a new place to bring their friends the next time they're in Duluth.
