This is a big open space on grass, so very nice for somewhere you might attend a concert or festival and be walking or standing for some hours. There isn't a lot of shade, but there are some land mounds towards the entrance, away from the lake, that have trees grouped on them. There you can get some shade. There is a restroom building, but usually during large events they provide plenty of portable toilets. There are usually food trucks at the events as well. I have attended concerts and beer festivals here. Always an enjoyable experience. Great background as the stage is set on the water's edge, and so you can watch huge lakers go by in the background on Lake Superior, and watch them go under the Aerial Lift bridge. The weather can be unpredictable in Duluth, but growing up here, we always said, "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes." This can be very true, as the All Pints North Beer Festival, that I attended in July of 2021, had some rain fall. I think it lasted less than 10 minutes, and then it was nice again. That day was quite hot, so the nice light rain was actually a welcome cool off period. It would be nice if there were more shady spots, but overall this is a great spot to attend an event.

Construction in the area will have you venturing on highway 535 if memory serves correct. I made it to the line at around 1830 hours or so on a Tuesday evening. Seen some signs letting you know what the estimated wait time would be to get in. Even though it was a weekday there's a lot of people wanting to see this wonderful light show. There's workers on the side ready to collect admission which was 10 dollars once you begin getting closer. If you forgot to use the restroom there are port-o-potties on the sidelines in certain areas, not hard to miss. Once finally reaching the light show, there is a station to tune into in order to enhance the Christmas spirit. The wait is well worth it, especially if you love the holiday season. Everything is wonderfully decorated, a glorious sight to behold, and there's even Santa with Ms. Claus handing out little gifts for the parents/guardians that brought their children with them. Great place all in all and definitely making this a thing to do every year.

Bayfront is beautiful! 3 1/2 stars The vendor prices are ridiculous!! The Blues fest is totally over regulated, it really takes the fun out of it. No Carry ins, having to dump out your own water and anything bought in the park, And be searched per entry.. I had to throw away my little bag of chips that I purchased IN the park after leaving the park for just a few minutes. Really? A quenching drink mikes hard lemonade or something summery and tasty would be good to add on the drink selection. It's capitalized and unfortunate because it's such an amazing event, but sooo regulated and over priced. Try the Blues Fest in Durand WI. It's free!! First weekend in August. It's right on the chippewa river, beautiful! Way more vendors, bars right down the block, Blues from ALL OVER just the same! Camping is also a short distance, and their sponsored locally. And the bands play at the bars after the show in the Park. I don't understand why this event doesn't get local sponsors and stop the insane prices and crazy overdrive of taking away the enjoyment. It would be great if some of the bands played locally for other business after the event, we didn't hear anything about after bar entertainment. Over all, great line up just way over priced for everything.

Beautiful venue. The concert prep could have been better. We were here for Bon Iver, got there early enough to be at the gate. There was no clear layout of how the 8 entrances to go through would be set up until shortly before the gates opened. There was one line for GA Pit, however you had to go through GA if you had a chair. The Pit line was all the way to the right, which thankfully we had been waiting in front of already. It was nearly 90° and they had pushed back the opening by about 45 minutes after removing the barrier. Instead of any announcement of letting people through, it was literally a mad rush when they finally allowed it. I feel bad for the workers, there was no way to properly check people's ID or bag with that rush. They had two people taking the Pit passes and putting on wrist bands, but had allowed so many through that it became a back log. My only complaint!

This is a fun venue for all ages to visit during the Christmas season. It’s located waterfront near the aquarium. The cost is $10 for parking otherwise it’s a free event. I rated it a 4 since it was frustrating getting into the parking lot. They should hire someone to direct traffic when it’s so busy. It took us a half hour to move 150 feet. Once inside the lot, there were plenty of people directing where to park. There are shuttles from various places only during the weekend. Once inside there’s plenty of room and it’s fun for all ages to stroll under and around the lights. We enjoyed the themes, especially the one thanking the “troops” since our daughter is in the Army National Guard.

It's an absolutely beautiful place I remember traveling there as a young child and just also here recently if you go around the holiday season it is absolutely amazing be mindful it's Minnesota and holiday season here can tend to get a little chilly so make you you check the weather before you head out and dress appropriately it is right on the shoreline of the great lakes so it's probably going to get chilly check it out you definitely shouldn't be disappointed
