Canal Park Brewing Company delivers the full craft brewpub experience—flavorful beers, creative food, a vibrant atmosphere, and a clear sense of purpose behind everything they do. I started with the Northcoaster Light, an American Light Lager that was flavorful, smooth, and incredibly easy to drink—I ended up ordering a second. My companion had the Lingonberry Hard Seltzer, which packed a flavorful punch while still being crisp and smooth. Both drinks were top-notch and well crafted. The atmosphere was lively and eclectic, with an incredibly diverse crowd. It felt like a place where everyone was welcome, and that vibe made the whole experience even better. The service was amazing—despite how busy it was, we received our food in under ten minutes. I ordered the Fish Tacos, which featured perfectly deep-fried walleye—offering a uniquely Midwestern twist on traditional street tacos. The filling was balanced with cheese, cilantro, and onion, and the roasted poblano brought everything together with bold, rich flavor. My companion had the Brewpub Smash Burger, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The caramelized onions added a deep, savory element that really elevated the dish. This place isn’t just about great food and drink—it’s about doing things right. Canal Park Brewing has earned several awards over the years, and it shows in every detail. They’re environmentally conscious, using solar panels to help power the facility, and proudly family-owned with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. You can feel the heart behind the business the moment you walk in. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast, a foodie, or just looking for a welcoming spot to hang out in Duluth, Canal Park Brewing Company is a must-visit.

We went here because it was on our Sidewalk Dog beer pass and we’re so glad we did! Both of the beers we had were great. See below for descriptions. The decor is more complex than most brew pubs/gastro pubs and they have cute merch. The waitress we had was friendly, accurate, funny and efficient. The chicken tenders with chipotle crema were so good- light, crispy and the dip was absolute perfection. The Canal park nachos with roasted pork, corn, black beans, and queso were great, and became 5 star when I ordered a side of the chipotle crema to drizzle on with the house made salsa verde. I suggested to our server they start serving it that way- it was truly exceptional. Check it out and get the chipotle crema sauce on EVERYTHING. Beers: He had a Stoned Surf IPA- (website description: WITH A BIG GRAPEFRUIT BOUQUET AS INTENSE BUT NOT QUITE AS FICKLE AS LAKE SUPERIOR HERSELF, THIS SMOOTH AND SPICY BREW WILL TAKE YOU ON A RIDE. STONED SURF IS A MEDIUM-BODIED IPA WITH A FRISKY HOP AROMA TO BALANCE ITS COMPLEX MALT BACKBONE. SPEAKING OF BACKBONE, THIS ‘MERICAN PALE ALE IS INTENDED FOR THOSE WITH JUST THAT. THINK BIG, THINK BOLD, THINK ABOUT HOPPING IN THE LAKE AND TAMING A FRESH WATER WAVE, MY FRIEND.) I had a Baltic Porter that was caramelly & roasty. (brewers note: RICHLY MALTY SWEETNESS WITH A COMPLEX BLEND OF DEEP MALT, DRIED FRUIT ESTERS, AND ALCOHOL. SMOOTH DRINKABILITY, STARTS OFF SWEET THEN DOMINATED BY BIG HINTS OF ROASTED COFFEE FOLLOWED BY NOTES OF TOFFEE, NUTTY AND MOLASSES COMPLEXITY WHICH STOPS SHORT OF BURNT.)

Excellent spot but I have a suggestion :) We got the mac and cheese, beer cheese soup, fig/bacon burger and the cheese curds which all had such complex flavours with homemade sauces. You could taste that the burgers were fresh and not frozen patties! Servers and kitchen staff are very well managed or just work really well as a team- quick and efficient service. This restaurant is located on the waterfront, which if you’ve walked the waterfront you’ve heard or seen many songbirds and shorebirds. However, while we were eating dinner, a bird flew right into the large windows of the restaurant that face the bay. This is extremely concerning for this towns bird community and biodiversity. I wonder if the owner may look into getting anti collision bird decals for the outside of the window to deter birds. Seeing as one of your beers is named after cute little nuthatches (nut hatchet brown), I hope you have an appreciation of birds as I do and may take my suggestion to heart.

Great place to enjoy with friends but could improve vegetarian options at the menu. The place is pet friendly and some parking available either in front of the restaurant or streets nearby. We were a diverse group of six people and a dog, some of us are vegetarian and some that don’t like beer at all. Menu is good, but limited vegetarian options, I would include a vegetarian tacos. Those that like beers (not my case), said the beers are really good and tasty. The main highlight for the place was the service. Kristina was serving us and she was totally the best. She was always checking on us and helped us a lot with the vegetarian options. She was great and deserves 10 starts. We ordered the cheese curds, fish sandwiches, classic, hambúrguer, house soup and Mac and cheese. I totally recommend the soup with popcorn, cheese curds and the local white fish.

We went for drinks and dinner before the Parker McCollum concert tonight. The service was incredible, friendly and attentive. The drinks we started with were awesome. The beer flight was perfect to find what we were craving in the full size, we moved on to the seltzers which were new since last time (grenadine and mango) both delicious and sure to add to their brewing award list! Also tried the vodka, ginger mule which was a winner. We then had the cheese curds, which were the best I ever had x 10 and a couple burgers including the jalapeño popper burger which was delicious. The portions were big and we left stuffed after our numerous delicious drinks and meal. We loved it last time we came and again it didn’t disappoint. It remains at the top of our list of favorite places to eat when we come to Duluth! Great place and atmosphere, highly recommended
