Hello,I have been a long time cinema fan going to the theatres since I was a kid.I would save my change and take a bus downtown to see a matinee at the Norshor or the Granada.I have always supported these places and love watching movies on the big screen.I know that it is difficult to keep this business afloat these days but after my last 3 experiences with this particular Marcus Theatre unless I get a formal apology from Mr.Marcus himself I will never spend another penny here.My main issue is company policy and very bad customer service.A few months back I showed up early to buy tickets with a couple friends and because of the current online tickets purchasing there weren't any seats left.Ok fair enough I guess. We decided to go to a later movie which although was inconvenient we bought tickets anyway.I do not and most people I have talked to do not like this system but so be it.A month later the very same thing happened except this time there were two seats in the front. There is no reason to have seats that close because it was impossible to comfortably view the screen.I left with a sore neck and unable to see what was going on most of the time.Tonight I tried to bring my son and two friends to 5 dollar movie night (which sounds like a bargain : ) We showed up 30 minutes early and were told that we would have to come back later for the 9:10 showing so I purchased tickets and picked out seats that were perfect for a change.Since we had all eaten and there wasn't much we could do before the movie we had to kill a couple hours before coming back we went home for a bit. When we got back we spent 37 dollars on some nachos, water, and soda then went to find our seats.Earlier when buying the tickets the young man sold us tickets for the 9:10 show but must have printed out tickets for the 9:50 show. They sold someone else our seats and said sorry but you can come back for the 9:50 show.Correct me if I'm wrong but since this is not my mistake wouldn't it be their problem? Well I think they could have made good on the seats that I was told I was buying and all 4 of us heard him say he was selling us.I think they should have told the other people who most certainly bought their tickets after me that they made a mistake.Instead I got a smug look and a we can refund you if you want.So basically if you don't like it there is the door.So they did refund me and he gave me some passes that I will not be using unless I run out of Charmin. What bothers me the most is after working 6 days in a row I was really looking forward to seeing a comedy and treating a few friends to a movie.Instead I threw away 3 hours of precious time that I could be doing something else.I was made to feel that my time and money is not as important as theirs. So if they don't want my business I will make a point of never wasting another minute of my time there.I will also make sure let everyone I know this is how they do business. So although I imagine it won't do me any good I am going to talk to his boss tomorrow and complain in hopes they may work at changing things for the better. It's a shame and because of this mentality in the near future theatre will most likely go the way of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the theater with my girlfriend last Tuesday we got 2 tickets to one of the movies playing and then went to the concession counter and got our free popcorn and bought a icee and cookie dough bites I paid for my tickets and the two items from concession with the gift card my kids got me for Fatherās Day the grand total was maybe $30.00 my gift card balance was $70.00 so there should have been ā$40.00 left on my gift card but when we tried to go to another movie the following Tuesday our transaction was denied and when I checked the balance it said it was $0.00 thatās impossible so the concession cashier charged me $55.00 for the two items I got last week I know thatās is where the mistake was made because it took fifteen mins for her to complete the transaction and had to ask someone else for assistance in doing so and was unable to figure out how to give us our remaining balance after the purchase was completed so Theater staff made a mistake a huge one at that and I am Very upset with staff and received zero help I was told to go to the website to find some of the information I needed but it would be useless because I would still need a manager to fix the problem and explain what happened and correct it for me so I go to your web page and can not find any information I need or a way to correct the problem and Iām not even the one who made the mistake your staff did and basically being told Iām not important as a customer and I have to figure out how to fix the theater staffs mistake myself so in other words Iām bein told to bend over and take it!ā¦ā¦ non of this was my fault or a mistake made by me in any way Iām only guilty of trying to see a movie using the funds on my gift card that were mistakenly cleared off the card by a cashier who did not know what she was doing and now theater staff deny me assistance I requested in fixing the mistake they made there is no way I can do it myself and Iām not only embarrassed having to walk away after being denied for the purchase of two movie tickets but also receiving no help from staff in fixing their mistake and no one has helped me get this fixed so I am posting this in hopes I will be seen and I will receive the help I should have gotten the first time and so this does not happen to anyone elseā¦.. so please help me get this fixed and I will remove this post and redo the review⦠but ya it was terrible the theater staff were inexperienced and offered zero help in repairing...
