J-One Hibachi Sushi — Restaurant in Duluth

Found my new favorite casual sushi/hibachi joint! Clean establishment, friendly staff, quality delicious food, and reasonable pricing? This place is a steal! I'll go over the items I ordered:

Tofu and veggie hibachi with lomein noodles with J1 sauce. Highly recommend!! The sauce was a hit, with enough to season the dish just right. The vegetables were done perfectly, and I don't say that lightly. I prefer my vegetables cooked down to a particular doneness, and J one got this part down. This was important to me bc I ordered the dish mainly for the veggies. The tofu also blew me out the water. The sauce clung onto the batter so well, and the tofu was soft and tasted fresh. The ginger dressing for the side salad was also bomb diggity. Might order some on the side to eat with salads at home next time.

Titanic roll I was not in the mood for raw fish so I went for a cooked roll option, this roll was great. The amount of sauce was perfect, not overpowering the roll at all. I thoroughly enjoyed this.

California roll. Okay so yea I ordered the most basic roll of all the rolls. But hear me out, if they get the California right, they'll get pretty much everything else right. I wanted a simple roll to taste the seasoned sushi rice, which I think makes or breaks all their rolls, and this place did not disappoint. Sushi rice was sooo good for a casual sushi spot, so good that I wished they put more rice on their roll, but then their ratio of rice to the toppings was also perfection. So as much as I liked their sushi rice, I actually loved the way theirs is made with less rice than most places. This roll was so good I decided to call them right after my meal to tell them how my day has been made bc of them.

This place is such a gem, and I'm not going to gatekeep, so please come support these guys! Will be coming back for all 3 items I ordered, and all the other items on the menu too. Thank you J One, you have some happy...

A great place for some amazing food! With a short menu, it was pretty easy to find something me, my boyfriend and my mom loved. My mom and I both got the chicken hibachi that came with yum yum sauce. We did not expect the portions to be huge! But I cannot explain how amazing it was. The best part to me was how fresh everything tastes in my hibachi chicken bowl. The veggies were cooked perfectly— not too hard, nor not too soft or not drenched in a ton of teriyaki sauce either. You could still taste the freshness of the vegetables. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing alongside the hibachi rice and veggies. The hibachi chicken was 13$, and was totally worth the price.

My boyfriend got the spiderman roll, which is fried, and the salmon roll. He said that the rice was perfect— not too vinegary or sweet! He also mentioned that the fish tasted very fresh too.

I apologize for being that person that calls in at 9:50 and sees if the kitchen is open. lol I called in and he said if I could make it in before 10:00 he can cook up the food for me since they still need to clean. I got there at 10:06 and they had my food ready and super hot! Seems like a family run business, I always appreciate extra service even when they don’t have to.

Food: I got the Steak & Chicken Hibachi with the Szechuan sauce. Wow talk about seasoning… it was little over seasoned for my liking but it was still so good! I just added some more rice :) I also got crab ragoons. Total came to about $25 without tip.

This place is a hidden gem and I’d definitely come and order for quick bite! Way better then spending $30-$40 at sit...
