What a disappointment. I tried their food truck a couple years ago at Castle danger brewery. They were selling "birria" tacos. They weren't even close to what it should be. I was so disappointed. I moved here from Denver from a very very Latin neighborhood with amazing Mexican food. I've been craving it since I got to the area and was excited to find some authentic Mexican food. I was so disappointed and I said I would never eat here again.
Since they opened the new location. The brick and mortar place in Lincoln Park neighborhood I thought I should give them another try. Maybe they had an off day. So I went in and ordered the al pastor burrito. Wow. $12 plus tip for a burrito that had hardly any meat in it. It tasted mostly just of pineapple and rice. Super bland. No flavor. Just terrible. I hate to write these reviews for local places that I want to succeed but they need to do something better. I can't say I will go back. I know there's one other taqueria in town that I still need to try. I hope they hit the mark. This area is very much lacking quality authentic Mexican food.
In response to your response. I literally just got back from Mexico City where I had an array of many types of tacos. I've been eating tacos my entire life and have worked with Mexicans my entire career. I know what I'm talking about. You can be from Mexico and not be a good cook. And I know what birria tacos are supposed to look like and supposed to taste like. Do better. Every person that I've spoke with that have eaten there all have said the same thing. It's...
Read moreI will start by saying this was one of my favorite restaurants. I live in MSP & specifically the quesabirria here is better than anywhere in the metro. However today there was an incident that really turned me off. There was an event next door, “pickle fest.” ODN had their food truck windows open with a man standing in the window. I was so happy to see they had the food truck open & thought they were participating in the event, so we parked in their lot, intending to visit the food truck and the event. As soon as we got out the vehicle he very meanly yelled at us saying if we parked there we would get towed. Turns out, the man in the food truck was essentially staged there to yell at people for parking in their parking lot & the food truck was not open. This of course upset all of my friends & they no longer wanted to eat there. We ended up parking very far away & walking to the event. We didn’t like any of the food options they had. Tacos still sounded so good but due to the way we were treated initially, everyone refused to go back to ODN. I get they didn’t want people parking there for the event but then maybe put up a sign?!? You don’t need to act passive aggressive MN style and wait til people get out of the car to yell at them about it- good job losing both loyal and potential...
Read moreI was hoping this place would be good, but we tried it twice now and each time the meat has been VERY dry and the amount of food given for the price charged is a total joke (will post pictures). The North Shore needs a good authentic place, this is not authentic. The hot sauce tastes like tomato sauce from a can, the queso birria taco is the smallest taco on the planet (talking bite size), and when we ordered extra meat and cheese on the super burrito the other day - yeah, still the same small amount as before. We were charged $25 for two small tacos and a very sad looking burrito. Hopefully they improve the food, or at least lower your prices. If you’re going to charge $12 and some change for a burrito, at least fill it up. We moved from St. Cloud and even they have far more authentic taco shops that know what they are doing. If you want something good - check out Gilibertos, Taqueria Don Chuy, or Taco Chon in central MN. The meat is marinated, delicious and the price fits the food. Here’s to praying someone decides to open up the most delicious taco shop up here...
