I went with my family to celebrate a combined birthday for my daughter and sister. They both enjoy ramen and anime. The atmosphere was eye grabbing. I was comforted by that. It was then snatched away when it was close to time to pay.
I asked for the bill and was met with how we were going to pay and were told that Apple Pay wasn’t available before anything proceeded. We were also met with the gratuity being added in automatically because we had five or more in our party. (6) the gratuity was not the issue. I had already read that when I saw it typed in the menu. I also saw the mention of Apple Pay not being an available payment option on the white sign on the door.
It was the feeling of being rushed to leave. When we arrived the restaurant was dead. There was two other people dining in. When we left there was one person and one group of four people. I don’t understand the rush to have us go. Maybe I’m being sensitive but specifically the woman with the multicolored braid was kind. She was helpful and attentive. The other woman…I am unsure of her name. I just wouldn’t dine there or bring my family anymore.
I was captivated by the atmosphere because I wanted to bring my partner next month for their birthday.
Now, I will consider another place. I don’t think anybody wants to feel rushed when they come for the experience.
Food wise: The ramen my family received looked great. The presentation was nice. I wanted a bowl of ramen too but the kind I wanted was in a pork broth. I cannot eat pork. No big deal. Life goes on. You can only add on to a ramen not substitute which is fine. I hope that some point in the future there can be a broth base that is creamy without pork for those who cannot have it who have similar diet...
Read moreMy first visit here after a round of golf at TPC Sugarloaf. My buddy Tony, the member, brought me here. His girlfriend was just in Tokyo and heard this place was very close to being in Japan. He loved it. Brought me here. The photos are of Kake Soba and Katsu Curry and Rice Plate. For apps we got the Gyoza and Japanese fried chicken. The apps were absolutely amazing. The gyoza was soft and delicious with a nice soy sauce glaze. But. The Fried Chicken was absolutely fire!!!!! Amazing. Very crisp with a nice level of salt and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
Then we had the Kake and Katsu The Kake came with a miso soup. Delicious. I used to to wash down the Katsu pork. Great palate cleanser. The soba noodles were soft and delicate. Delicious. The broth had an earthy flavor to it and it was a great complement to the soba noodle. The Katsu OMG. The panko crusted pork loin fried to perfection. And so crispy and tender to grab and eat. It was astounding. Then came the curry gravy. I don’t know how to explain this other than to simply tell everyone reading this to go and try it. Unreal flavor and depth in conjunction with the crispy and tender pork. Amazing dish. Please go try this place for yourself. I will be a...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but it just wasn’t all that great. First of all the air conditioning was barely blowing. Eating hot ramen in a hot restaurant is actually pretty terrible. They had ceiling fans, but they were t enough. The food was ok. The dishes either had too much salt or too much sugar. The beef rice bowl had the egg cooker into the beef instead of separately so everything had this soggy texture. There were also more onions than actual beef which made the whole dish taste like onion. Lastly the beef was not good quality and had an old after taste. I would have sent it back, but I didn’t want to make a scene in front of my family and wanted them to enjoy dinner. My husband offered to trade his eel with me though when I was barely able to eat my dish, but after tasting one bite I couldn’t because it was a pure salt bomb. The ramen was ok, but again the fact that it was so hot in there did not make eating it a pleasant experience. I think I was expecting more after seeing all the good reviews, but I just ended up very...
