Overall, I give this place 3 stars. Today, they had their grand opening, and there was a massive crowd. My hubby and I decided to give this place a shot since it was their grand opening and all the things we saw from social media about the place in other locations worldwide, so we wanted to try it out. We had high expectations for this place.
The place was nice, I saw a couple of tiger plushies around, and the staff was very friendly.
We ordered several different drinks to try; Price: $5.25+ each. Size: only one size that looks like a small size, not sure how many ounces was. Customizable...? not sure about that since they didn't ask us about any sugar level or ice level. Besides, the music on the site was too loud, you barely hear the staff talking to you, and they also barely hear you. What we order: (in the menu as #1) Their signature, brown sugar boba milk + pearl with cream mousse (in the menu as #2) Brown Sugar Boba milk + tiger jelly with cream mousse (in the menu as #4) Brown sugar boba milk + espresso coffee with cream mousse
The first two drinks we ordered were okay, not great, not bad, just okay... since it wasn't customizable (I guess...) the sugar level, it wasn't at all sweet, it was in the perfect ratio. However, it would have been nice if the ice level were customizable since as the ice melt, the flavor in the drink faint. The boba and pearl in the drink were good and flavorful; however, I don't feel a liking for the two drinks as it felt like basically drinking half and half with some sugar and boba + pearl.
The third drink that we got tasted better as it had some flavor. I guess from the coffee, it didn't taste much as milky as the first two drinks.
Their boba is great. It has flavor, sugar, chewiness, and it was soft as it should be, compared to other places. Their pearl is great as it has that kind of salted caramel flavor. Both combines are good. If you are looking for some good flavorful boba, this probably should be your place to go. However, personally, I don't think it worth waiting in line for three hours, almost four hours for a drink that actually worth like...
Read moreAt long last, Tiger Sugar has arrived in the ATL. But is it worth the hype? Does it compare to that of other locations in other states? I came to find out if it's comparable to what I remember from having the drink in NYC.
Located in a busier area of Duluth, GA. You can find Tiger Sugar in the plaza across the street from Walmart and right next to Quik Trip Gas Station. Also in the same plaza is H-Mart for all your shopping convenience needs. Parking is very limited, but you can also park around the closer area and walk over.
Adhering to COVID guidelines, the owners as that everyone wear masks upon entry of the store. They do not check temperatures, so please be courteous of others. If you feel sick, stay home and don't go out. Distancing is kept as well, they leave the side door open for people to wait outside when it gets crowded.
The menu is limited, as they will be adding more drinks and topping choices in the near future. Popular drink by recommendation is the Original Black Sugar Boba + Pearl with Cream Mousse. Creamy style drink with mix of small and medium sized tapioca drizzled with black sugar layers. Overall taste is good, a bit on the 'milkier' side of flavor. Advised to shake 15 times by the staff. Personally, I would rate it from 1 to 10 about an 8.5. Good, but not amazing. I remember the first time I tried Tiger Sugar in NYC, and it left a long lasting impression.
The store is spacious and well decored to the theme of the name. Staff are helpful and friendly to all that come in.
To all that come, please be patient. Expect a line and wait time, there were many people who ordered large amounts when I came. It's worth the wait and visit if you're in the area.
Welcome to the ATL...
Read moreI usually dont post reviews, but wanted to share: I've gone to this place a couple times and would not recommend coming here. There are plenty of other boba shops in Duluth that make good drinks AND have good customer service. I don't know why the owner of this shop doesn't crackdown on their rude employees? Once, I told an employee my drink was wayyyyy too sweet and she just walked off like she couldn't care less. They also choose to miss requests like no ice or less sugar.
Also, I saw the police cam video and noticed the manager Nam repeatedly lied to the police about the situation. She cried and changed her story multiple times without once acknowledging the mishap or her poor actions and apologizing. She chose to escalate the situation by refusing a refund or remake of the drink, but lied to police saying she did offer, then she changed it to she didn't have the chance to offer the refund or remake. She also lied about not cussing out the customer at all to she cussed him out only after she called her crazy. I've worked in customer service for 8 years and have had my fair share of rude or mean customers. But that NEVER warrants to act like how she did to that man. She's lucky he couldn't understand her English bc he could have called her out to the police to point out her repeated lies. I wouldn't be surprised if she still worked here bc the employees here are generally rude based on my experience going there. Most ppl commenting on this situation don't know Korean AND English so they don't see all the details of this situation and the repeated lies Manager Nam says to the police. What a shame this was brought...
