TLDR: Retro dessert stand for your after dinner treat! Come for the classic Bmore snowballs w/ marshmallow fluff and milkshakes!
Vibe: 5/5. Located right off German Hill Rd. in Dundalk, this snowball stand is beautifully lit at night with bright neon so you can't miss it. Since it's only a stand, there is no inside dining, however there are a few metal benches adjacent to the building where you can sit and enjoy your order. The menu is located on the side of the building next to the window at which you order.
Service: 5/5. Staff is always quick to take orders and is always very pleasant. The stand can get pretty busy during peak summer hours, but luckily the staff at Icy are efficient at turning orders quickly. I have waited in lines 6-7 parties deep and have only waited 5-10 minutes to get my order.
Food: 5/5. This is my go to stand for a classic Baltimore snowball. They do a good job crushing the ice to a fluffy consistency as well as evenly distributing the flavor syrups. Also, when administering the mandatory marshmallow fluff, they put half in the center and the rest on top for perfect mallow distribution from start to finish. On my last visit we opted to try the new Banana Cream Mega Shakes they have been advertising and we were not disappointed! Reminiscint of the IG famous Black Tap Milkshakes in NYC, these are a scaled down version but...
Read moreIt’s a meh from me. Their ice cream is all Turkey Hill that I can get at the store, no, I can’t get soft serve at the store but it tastes the same, husband ordered the twist and was satisfied but not enthusiastic about it. I got an egg custard with marshmallow, and while I have learned that egg custard is not my flavor, I don’t blame them. I was disappointed by the marshmallow though, I am used to the Texan sweetened condensed milk on top of the snowball, not a goopy lump of marshmallow in the middle that by the time I reached, had no flavor. Final thing I was disappointed by was their pretzels, by “made fresh” pretzels they mean popped frozen into the air fryer/oven fresh to order. And they weren’t anything to write home about.
If I need a snowball in the future, I won’t rule this place out, but not for...
Read moreI will say my family and i absolutely love this place. However, tonight was very busy, like usual. As i was waiting in line there was a very ignorant customer who decided to suddenly create her own line and start yelling and telling others to get behind her! Therefore, i left and went to the stand up the road. Maybe, just my opinion, implicate a line or arrows on the parking lot to allow ignorant people have a better understanding of how to stand in line properly. Its really sad that everything that the world is going through right now and we still can't appreciate or get along with others. You lost 3 cars of customers all due to the ignorance of one person. Hopefully my next experience...
